Praising Himself By Himself
Compiled by Sheikh Adnan Kabbani from the Knowledge of Grandsheikh Sultan ul Awliya Abdullah Faiz Dagistani (ral) and Sultan ul Awliya Moulana Sheikh Nazim, may Allah be well pleased with them
THE SECLUSION DURING THE NIGHT JOURNEY
Bismillahi Rahman ir Raheem. Through the heart of our Grandsheikh Moulana Abdullah Faiz Dagistani and through the heart of Moulana Sheikh Nazim al Haqqani, they are connecting us to the heart of Prophet Muhammad (Sal). All the 124,000 prophets are connected to the heart of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) and the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) is connected to Allah Almighty. The Prophet was not connected to Allah Almighty by the Names or Attributes but by the very Essence of Allah Almighty. The Essence of Allah Almighty was given to him and dressed on him. Whatever was dressed by Allah Almighty to the Prophet (Sal) by way of the Names and Attributes are in comparison to the Essence of Allah Almighty so very little.
This Essence of Allah Almighty was dressed to the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) at the time of the Night Journey when he was in seclusion with Allah Almighty. The Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was dressed by Allah Almighty with the Lights of the Essence until there was no Muhammad left, and his body was replaced by a Godly Body or a Divine Body. He was dressed by a body related to the Divine world of the Essence of Allah Almighty. The Divine Oceans of Unity, the Divine Oceans of the Oneness of Allah Almighty, all of them were as if it had vanished, and was not appearing, when Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was in this seclusion with Allah Almighty. All of them were dressed to Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal). In between all the other Universes, Divine Worlds, Divine Universes, Heavens and Earth, the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was dressed by the Unity of Allah Almighty, by His attributes and by the Names of Allah Almighty. But in that Maqam (Spiritual Station), in that station, in the seclusion with Allah Almighty, in the Night Journey, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was dressed by His Essence, which no one can imagine even or describe.
The Prophet Muhammad (Sal) is the only one who is responsible for all that appears from the Divine Names and Attributes of Allah Almighty. All that was in the world was dressed in Muhammad Rasoolullah (Sal). All that appeared and was created from the Attributes and the Names of Allah Almighty was also dressed on Rasoolullah (Sal). The 124,000 Prophets were also dressed on Muhammad Rasoolullah (Sal). He was the Divine Tongue of Allah Almighty which taught all the Messengers and Prophets of Allah Almighty. He was the one in between everyone and Allah Almighty. The Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was the one who was giving revelation to Seyyadina Jibril (Alai) to send to every Prophet and Messenger of Allah Almighty, because even Seyyadina Jibril (Alai) has a border or a limit where he stopped. Seyyadina Jibril (Alai) could not go beyond this limit. There is only one, and only he can go beyond this border and he was invited to the Divine Essence of Allah Almighty and that is Muhammad ur Rasoolullah (Sal).
THE STATION BEYOND LANGUAGE
With what tongue or by which language did Allah Almighty address him in this Great Station. There is no language in this Station. Language is related to the earthly world, and to the Universes, which are invisible to us, of the Angels or the Jinns, or the other creations of Allah Almighty. There are words and there are letters. Allah Almighty uses words, language and letters on what he has created. But in this Maqam, at this seclusion with Allah Almighty on the Night Journey, Allah Almighty did not use any such language, words or letters when addressing His most beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sal). This was something that was revealed to the heart of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) from the Divine Presence of Allah Almighty. The Prophet Muhammad (Sal) was then introduced to the time before anything had yet even appeared, from the Knowledge of Allah Almighty. He was then
dressed to be the Representative of Allah Almighty and to be the Perfect Man. He is the Perfect Man, who represents all of humanity, for all and to all.
HAMD OF MUHAMMAD
Allah Almighty named this Light which represents the Divine and Godly World of Lights by calling it Muhammad. In this Maqam (Spiritual Station), he is not a human being and he is not even of Mankind, he is not what you can ever imagine. He is the Divine Word and it is the Divine Worlds of the Light of Allah Almighty and the Divine World of the Mercy of Allah Almighty. He is also the Divine World of Hamd of Allah Almighty. It is for this reason that he
is called ‘Muhammad’, which means a deep and intense kind of ‘Praise.’ The word ‘Hamd’ in Arabic means ‘Praise’. Allah Almighty is praising Himself by Himself. This Praising or Thanking Himself by Himself, is Muhammad, and was named Muhammad. He is in totality the shadow of the Essence of Allah Almighty and he is the Perfect Man, the Perfect Example and the Perfect Imam in the Divine Presence of Allah Almighty.
THE SHADOW OF MUHAMMAD
The 124,000 Prophets who inherited the secret of Muhammad Rasoolullah, were also Perfect Men. Each of these Prophets during his period of time was also perfect. Then, amongst the Prophets, Allah Almighty created key positions. Who are all of them representing? They are representing Muhammad Rasoolullah (Sal), and they are the Shadow of Muhammad (Sal). It must be noted that they are the Shadow of Muhammad Rasoolullah and not the Shadow of Allah Almighty. This Shadow of Muhammad Rasoolullah (Sal) started with Seyyadina Nuh (Alai), then Seyyadina Ibrahim (Alai) and then Seyyadina Musa (Alai) then Seyyadina Esa (Alai) and then the physical body of Muhammad (Sal) which thereafter appeared 1,400 years ago. A beam of Light about the size that can pass through the eye of a needle was dressed by Allah Almighty to these Prophets to represent the Shadow of Muhammad Rasoolullah (Sal), which is up in the Divine Presence of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty connected His name with Muhammad His messenger in La ilaha illallah Muhammad ur Rasoolullah, in pre eternity before anything yet even appeared or was created. From this, a beam of Light was dressed on Nuh (Alai). The people of Nuh (Alai) started to worship him. They were told not to do this. It was because of this beam of Light that they so revered him.
THE BEAM OF LIGHT IN SEYYADINA IBRAHIM
Then, after Nuh (Alai), this beam of Light was passed on to Ibrahim (Alai). Ibrahim (Alai) was the father of so many Prophets. He was one of the most important Prophets of Allah Almighty. It was because of this beam of Light that he became safe from the fire of Nimrod. This was due to the fact that he was carrying this beam of Light which was from the Light of Muhammad ur Rasoolullah (Sal). When the king of that country, Nimrod was trying to burn Seyyadina Ibrahim (Alai) in a huge fire, Allah Almighty sent Jibril (Alai) to Ibrahim (Alai), in order to help him. Jibril (Alai) was the most preferred of all the angels of Allah Almighty. Jibril (Alai), then said to Ibrahim (Alai), “Please order me and tell me what I should do to save you. Even if you order me to cast Nimrod and all his people into this huge fire I am ready to do it.” Ibrahim (Alai) said, “Oh! Jibril (Alai), the One who sent you knows in which condition I am. I do not want anyone else’s help. He knows. I am satisfied with what Allah Almighty is doing with me and I know that He is seeing me now.” It was not in reality, Ibrahim (Alai) who was saying this, but it was the beam of Light that was in Ibrahim (Alai) that spoke in this way. Then a big miracle came to pass and when Ibrahim (Alai) was thrown into this huge fire, the fire did not burn him. If Allah Almighty had ordered the fire to become cold, Seyyadina Ibrahim (Alai), would have died through that coldness. Allah Almighty ordered the fire to be safe and not cold, so Ibrahim (Alai) was saved.
THE BEAM OF LIGHT IN SEYYADINA ISMAIL
Then this beam of Light passed from Ibrahim (Alai) to his son Ismail (Alai). Allah Almighty protected Seyyadina Ismail (Alai) from being slaughtered and sacrificed. If he was not saved from the sacrifice, how could the physical body of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) have appeared in the future, as Ismail (Alai) was one of the forefathers of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal). Allah Almighty wanted to make a sacrifice with a sacrifice from Allah Almighty Himself, so that it will, more purify, the Light, when Muhammad Rasoolullah (Sal) physically appears into this world in the future..
The beam of Light that was in Ibrahim (Alai), was passed on to his son Ismail (Alai). This Light was then, not anymore in Ibrahim (Alai), because now it had passed into Ismail (Alai), his son. It was because Ibrahim (Alai), did not have this Light within him at that time, that he trembled, when Allah Almighty commanded him to cut the neck of his son. Allah Almighty had to order him three times. On the first and the second occasions Ibrahim (Alai) was trembling and could not bring himself to carry out this order. It was on the third occasion, that he went up to his son and said, “Oh my son I have a command from Allah Almighty to have you sacrificed.” This trembling and hesitation was because at this time the beam of Light was not in Ibrahim (Alai) anymore to fortify and support him. It was then that Ismail (Alai) spoke, and said, “Oh my father! Do not hesitate, quickly cut off my neck because I am ready to sacrifice myself for the sake of Allah Almighty.” In this instance too it was not Ismail (Alai) who said this, but it was this beam of Light that was in Seyyadina Ismail (Alai) that spoke this way.
Then Ibrahim (Alai), who was under the command of Allah Almighty, was trying to slaughter his son, and while he was attempting to sacrifice his son, his heart was burning, so much so, it is said, that smoke was coming out from his mouth. Even so, he was trying his best to cut the throat of his son, but miraculously, the knife refused to cut the throat of Seyyadina Ismail (Alai). Then Allah Almighty said, “Stop! I am accepting this sacrifice and I am going to change this sacrifice by a tremendous sacrifice.” Then Allah Almighty sent through Jibril (Alai) a different sacrifice from Heaven for the sake of the life of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal).
THE BEAM OF LIGHT IN SEYYADINA MUSA
Then, this beam of Light, later, passed on to Musa (Alai) who was the Khalil of Allah Almighty. One day Musa (Alai), said to Allah Almighty, “You, Almighty Allah, have preferred me above all other Prophets. You are so close to me and You have given me even the power to speak to You, as a friend would speak with his friend. Please make me also to be able to see You.” Then Allah Almighty replied, “Don’t say so Musa! No one is allowed to see Me, except My beloved Muhammad (Sal).” “Look Musa and see what I am going to show you” Allah Almighty then opened up a vision in which 18,000 mountains of Sinai with a Musa (Alai) on top of each mountain, was also asking to see Allah Almighty. Then Allah Almighty said , “You are all on the waiting list and none of you shall be able to see Me until My beloved Muhammad sees Me”. Then Musa (Alai) asked Allah Almighty “Why are You preferring this Muhammad, more than me, Oh! Allah Almighty? I am Your Khalil and I am so close to you that I am even speaking to You, So why are You allowing Muhammad Rasoolullah only to see You and not allowing me to see You? I am so close to You, and am even Your friend”. Musa (Alai) did not know that he was speaking through Muhammad ur Rasoolullah and he thought he was speaking directly to Allah Almighty. When Musa (Alai) asked Allah Almighty, “Why do You prefer Muhammad above me”, Allah Almighty shouted, and said, “Behave yourself! If you say such a thing again, I will throw you away from Prophethood! You will not be a Prophet anymore. You must know that Muhammad (Sal) is of a totally different calibre. You, all the other Prophets, all the Angels and everyone else are always seeking for my satisfaction (rila), while I am Allah Almighty and am doing my best to make my beloved Muhammad (Sal) satisfied and happy. All of you are looking for ways to make Me happy, and to satisfy Me but I am Allah Almighty and I am
trying My best to satisfy Muhammad (Sal).”
Physically also a Light passed from Seyyadina Ismail (Alai) from son to grandson upto Abdullah, may Allah Almighty bless him, who was the father of the Prophet (Sal) and from him it passed on to his son . After Musa (Alai), this beam of Light was dressed on Seyyadina Esa (Alai). After the ascension of Esa (Alai) this beam of Light was taken by Allah Almighty and kept with Him till the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Sal), because no one in between, was powerful enough to carry it.. Then, when the Prophet Muhammad (Sal),
was born, this beam of Light from Allah Almighty was transferred into the physical body of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal).
THE BEAM OF LIGHT IN THE MASTERS OF THE GOLDEN CHAIN
When Muhammad (Sal), passed away or was veiled from Mankind, this beam of Light was not taken away by Allah Almighty. This beam of Light was passed into the heart of Abu Bakr us Siddique (Ral) and then from Abu Bakr us Siddique (Ral)
to Salman al Farsi (Ral), may Allah be well pleased with him and then from him
to Qassim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr as Siddiq, may Allah be well pleased with him and then from him
to Imam Jafar as Sadiq may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Tayfur Abu Yazid al Bistami, may Allah sanctify his secret and from him

to Abu Ali al Farmadi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Abu Yaqub Yusuf al Hamadani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him to Abul Abbas, al Khidr, upon whom be peace, and this was kept as an Amana or as a trust with al Khidr (Alai) because still Abdul Khaliq al Ghujdawani (Ral) was not born and then from him
to Abdul Khaliq al Ghujdawani, may Allah sanctify his secret, who is the Khalif of Allah Almighty for the Khatam ul Khawajagan till the Day of Judgment and from him to Arif ar Righwari, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Khwaja Mahmoud al Anjir al Faghnawi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Ali ar Ramitani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Muhammad Baba as Samasi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him to Sayyid Amir Kulal, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Imam at Tariqah Muhammad Bahauddin Shah Naqshband al Uwaysi al Bukhari, may Allah be pleased with him, and at this time when this beam of Light was dressed on Imam Shah Bahauddin Naqshband (Ral), Allah Almighty added another Light to this beam of Light from the Reality of the Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal), which is from the Maqam over the Maqam of Seyyadina Jibril (Alai). Which is even above the Reality of the Throne, because he is the Imam of the Divine World of Allah Almighty and the Divine World of Prophet Muhammad (Sal) over the Throne and from him
to Ala'uddin al Bukhari al Attar, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him to Yaqub al Charkhi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Ubaydullah al Ahrar as Samarqandi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Muhammad az Zahid, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him

to Muhammad Hajegi Khwaja al Amkanaki as Samarqandi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Muhammad al Baqibillah as Samarqandi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him this Light was dressed
to Mujaddid Alfith Thani Imam Rabbani Ahmad al Faruqi as Sirhindi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and during this time when it was dressed to Sheikh Ahmed Faruq, another Light was added to this beam of Light and Seyyadina Ahmed Faruq al Sirhindi, became the renewer and the reviver of the Second Millennium of the Islamic Calender and from him
to Urwat ul Wuthqa Muhammad al Masum ar Rabbani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Muhammad Sayfuddin al Faruqi al Mujaddidi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Sayyid Nur Muhammad al Badawani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Shamsuddin Habib Allah, Mirza Jani Janan al Mazhar, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Ghulam Ali Abdullah ad Dahlawi, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Shaykh Ziyauddin Abu Naasan Mohamed Khalid al Baghdadi ash Shami, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Shaykh Ismail Muhammad an Narani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Shaykh Khas Muhammad Shirwani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him

to Shaykh Abu Muhammad al Madani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Shaykh Sharafuddin ad Daghestani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and from him
to Sultan al Awliya Shaykh Abdullah al Faiz ad Daghistani, may Allah sanctify his secret, and during this time four other Lights were added to this beam of Light, which are the Lights, firstly, from the Light of the Prophecy of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal), secondly, from the Light of the Messenger of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal), thirdly from the Light of the Revelation of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal) and fourthly from the Light of the Wilaya of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal). Sultan al Awliya Shaykh Abdullah al Faiz ad Daghistani was shining with all of these Lights. Due to this Seyyadina Sharaffuddin Dagistani said of Sheikh Abdullah Faiz Dagistani, that no one amongst the children of Adam (Alai) has still set his foot on such a High Maqam.
THE LIGHT OF WILAYA
Grandsheikhh Abdullah was the Teacher, the Lord and the Master because he is the Seal Of Saints. Mohammad ur Rasoolullah is a Divine Light world of Allah Almighty and the heart of that world was known as the Seal of Awliya and the Light of Wilaya of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal). The Reality which was dressed from Allah Almighty to him was quickly kept in the heart of this Divine light World and the heart there represented Grandsheikhh Moulana Abdullah Daghistani (Ral). It is from this Light of Wilaya that Light came to every Prophet and Messenger. It is from Grandsheikhh Moulana Abdullah Daghistani (Ral) that it is coming to every Saint and Prophet from the time of Adam (Alai) to Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal), and Grandsheikhh Moulana Abdullah Dagistani (Ral) was also the one who was kept to open up the Secret of the Holy Quran during the time of Mahdi (Alai) and to teach it to Seyyadina Mahdi (Alai), so that Seyyadina Mahdi (Alai), will be able to open this up to Mankind.
THE BEAM OF LIGHT IN MOULANA SHEIKH NAZIM AL HAQQANI
Such was the status and rank of our Great Sultan ul Awliya Abdullah Faiz Daghistani. This was passed on to Sultan ul Awliya Moulana Sheikh Nazim Adil al Haqqani, may Allah be pleased with him. Just before Grandsheikhh Abdullah Faiz Daghistani (Ral) passed away he called me (Sheikh Adnan Kabbani) and asked me to bring some paper and a pen and to write down what he said. He also said to bring four witnesses to witness this. He then said, “I am dressing my son Sheikh Nazim with all the Spiritual Ranks and Stations that Allah Almighty has dressed me up to now and am also dressing him with all the Spiritual Ranks and Stations that the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) has dressed me with. I am dressing Sheikh Nazim in all these Ranks, whatever that has been dressed on me. He is my Inheritor and he is the Perfect man who represents Muhammad ur Rasoolullah during this period of time. He will represent me and Seyyadina Abu Bakr as Siddique (Ral) and all the Grandsheikhs and Seyyadina Ali and Seyyadina Omar and Seyyadina Osman and all the Sahaba and all the 124,000 Prophets. I am giving this message so that it will be known to all Awliya and to all who are now listening to me in the Heavens and the Earth. (He was not only speaking to us only, but was addressing everyone). I am dressing my son Moulana Sheikh Nazim by the order of the Prophet Muhammad (Sal) and by the Will of Allah Almighty with all the ranks that I have been dressed in and that he shall continue till the coming of Seyyadina Mahdi (Alai). When Seyyadina Mahdi (Alai) appears, I shall return with the Reality of Seyyadina Muhammad (Sal) and the realities of all the 124,000 Prophets and all the Awliya from the time of Adam (Alai) to Yawmal Kiyama (Day of Judgement).”
My Grandsheikh Moulana Abdullah Faiz Dagistani, then made it very clear that the Perfect Man during this time who is representing Muhammad ur Rasoolullah is Moulana Sheikh Nazim. Some people will say that it is because my (Sheikh Adnan’s) sheikh is Moulana Sheikh Nazim, is the reason why I am speaking about Moulana Sheikh Nazim in this way. They are crazy! I am speaking from stations that they cannot reach, to be able even to listen, and they cannot get this type of knowledge from all their Sheiks or their Stations. If they can give such knowledge then we will accept what they are saying. Never can one reach or hear such kind of knowledge other than through the Station of Moulana Sheikh Nazim.”
In the aforesaid manner after the passing away of the Great Sultan ul Awliya Moulana Abdullah Faiz Dagistani (Ral), this beam of Light passed into Moulana Sheikh Nazim and in addition to all these Lights that was passed on to Moulana Sheikh Nazim through Grandsheikhh Abdullah, another specialty from the Divine Attribute and Name of Al Haqq was also granted to Moulana Sheikh Nazim by Allah Almighty. With this grant of the Attribute of Al Haqq or the ‘Truth’, Moulana Sheikh Nazim was also entrusted with the task to complete the Haqq or the ‘Truth’ in the hearts of those to whom the Light of Muhammad ur Rasoolullah has still not reached.

Fame, dignity, & honor are for Sultan al Awliya
Suhbat Mawlana Shaykh Hisham
Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid
Ati` Allah wa ati` ar-rasula wa uli 'l-amri minkum
They are very light on the tongue, very heavy on the scale SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi subhanAllah il-`adheem, istaghfirullah.
Kalimatan khafeefataan `ala al-lisan thaqeelataan fi 'l-meezaan.
Two words that are light on the tongue and heavy on the scales.
It is only one sentence, they very light to say it but very heavy on the scale; they take all the sins that day. So don't forget so say, "SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi, praise be to Allah, SubhanAllah il-`adheem , praise be to the Greatest One, praise be to Allah, the Greater," and repent "istaghfirullah."
Alhamdulillah that Allah swt gave us the opportunity to come and visit you. What is the wisdom, no one knows. Allah swt knows, the Prophet (s) knows and our shuyukh and Mawlana Shaykh knows.
I am not pretending to be a shaykh, first of all. I am not asking anyone to call me a shaykh and I am the worst between you, those who are present here. I am not claiming khalifa or deputy or anything. I am like you, I like to be a sheep, not to be a shepherd. Sheep never going to be asked anything. Shepherd is going to be asked everything. Those who like to be shepherds, let them be.
Let us take that away from our hearts and be a mirror to each other - to be looking at each other in equality. You gave lectures, tons of lectures, thousands of lectures, no benefit. If there, if someone wants the benefit, one lecture is enough for everyone to be saved and to go to Paradise, one is enough. But we keep saying, more and more, more and more and this is the way that Allah swt has created us. Because he said in Holy Qur'an:
وَذَكِّرْفَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Wa dhakkir fa inna adh-dhikra tanfa`u 'l-mu'mineena - Remind them (O Muhammad) because when they are reminded they get benefit. Surat adh-Dhaariyat [51:55]
It means when we are reminded we get benefit.
When Grandshaykh was asked to carry the responsibility of khilafah, when Shaykh Sharafuddin, may Allah bless his soul, grand Grandshaykh, before he left dunya, he said to Grandshaykh Abdullah al-Faiz Daghestani , "I am asking you and giving you the responsibility to be my successor. Whatever the Prophet (s) gave to me I am giving to you, to follow and to take forward the followers, the mureeds."
Don't think that I am better than you. No way. You, everyone of us must think he is the worst one, because if he will give a little bit of tazkiyyah, uplifting his ego, one moment, shaytan will trick him. Always you have to cut down your ego. "O my ego you are nothing. Don't think you know something you are speaking you are speaking because they ask you to speak. Not because you know something. Because they are humble, they ask you to speak. If they are not humble they don't ask you to speak. That means they are better than you. When Shaykh Sharafuddin
… I am saying this because we have to know our limits. We must not pretend to be something. the Prophet (s), Allah gave him all kinds of knowledges and he made him the mirror of all His Beautiful Names and Attributes and He made him the door to His heavens and He dressed him with ma`rifatullah the knowledge of his Lord and He brought him to "two bows length of an arrow" and still he said, "O Allah don't leave me to my ego for the blink of an eye." With all these knowledges he said, "I am nothing, Ya Rabbee. I am worried."
If that is the Prophet (s) who is Sahib jawaami` al-kalimi [owner of the Comprehensive Word] and who is Owner of all different knowledges and all different languages of heavens and earth and he is saying, "O Allah don't leave me to my ego for the blink of an eye… or else I will go to a bad ending" what about us?So when Shaykh Sharafuddin said to Grandshaykh, "You carry the responsibility, I am leaving."
Why did Shaykh Sharafuddin died so soon, so young? Because he was extracting from Surat al-An`am all secrets and all the names and all personalities of all awliyaullah who are coming in the time of Mahdi. It was very heavy on his heart to extract these secrets from Surat al-An`am. We will not go into this subject.
He said, "I am giving you the authority." What did he say? "I don't want it." If our shaykh says to us now, "I am giving you calipha what do we do?" We take it and we run. Before he changes his mind. [everyone laughs] If Mawlana Shaykh Nazim calls you now and says, "You are my best one, I am going to give you the khilapha." "O my shaykh , yes, yes!" Take it and run.
Inna `aradna al-amanata `ala as-samaawaati wa'l-ardi w'al-jibaali fa abayna an yahmilnaha wa ashfaqna minhaa wa hamalahaa a-linsanu innahu kana dhalooman jahoolan.
We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the Mountains; but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: but man undertook it;- He was indeed unjust and foolish;- [33:72]
We gave our trust, we gave our amana, we gave our khilapha – Allah is saying, to human beings. We gave it to heavens and hearth and they said, "no, Ya Rabb, we cannot carry it, it is too much." We offered it to human beings and they said, "Yes," we took it and run away. What did Allah describe us? Innahu kaana dhalooman jahoola - Oppressors and ignorant. We are oppressors and ignorant. Because we are tyrants to ourselves, we destroyed ourself. Because we thought we are something.
Look Iblees, Iblees didn't leave one hand in heavens and in earth without doing a sajda to Allah swt. Every space of a hand. One hand, 2 hands, 3 hands, 4 hands, 5 hands, 6 hands. How many? In every hand he made one sajda. Allah gave him long life, from when Allah created him before creation of Adam, up to Judgment Day, Iblees has life. When he was in paradise before Adam and when Adam was created before he created him, he didn't leave one hand without sajda. How much work he has and it was only one mistake. And it was one moment only. It was not a continuous one even. Allah said, "Make sajda and in his heart what happened, he refused. Why? Pride. Everyone says "pride." And Holy Qur'an says "pride." [He said:] "You created me from fire, you created him from mud, from clay, from soil, whatever. How am I going to make sajda to him? I am better than him."
The reality of the secret of this verse is that he was saying, "How can I make sajda to other than you? I cannot. I cannot accept it."
For example, you, Look someone comes to you and Sultan, Mawlana gave you something and you are becoming a big shaykh, turban, I am [with] turban, and look, his turban is bigger than my turban. Like you have been asked an order to bow to someone who is nothing to you. You feel it is "How am I going to listen to that person. I listen to my sultan."
If now I tell you listen to him, sit with him and listen to him. I will tell you no, I cannot accept it. "I sit with my sultan and listen to my sultan. How am I going to listen to him?"
Grandshaykh after his seclusion of five years, I am jumping to another subject here, Grandshaykh with his seclusions he was counting the days when he finished his seclusion he was counting the days when he will go and see his shaykh and he is in the cave 5 years with olives and dates. He sent him a message at the last moment. He said, "Don't come to me, go listen to Muhammad Effendi." Muhammad Effendi was the most crazy one in the village. Shaykh Sharafuddin said, "Sit with him and take suhbat from him." He was after all these secrets coming to him for five years and he was ordered to go and sit with a majnoon, which means mentally sick, and go and sit with him and listen to his lectures. And Muhammad Effendi is so happy to have a student. And giving him lecture 24 hours a day, and not stopping. And giving lectures that are complete nonsense. And he said, "I am giving him respect as if he is my shaykh. I looked at him as if he is Shaykh Sharafuddin. If I look less than this then I will be kicked from tariqah."
When the Shaykh orders then listen. If you do less then you will be kicked out.
So today who will listen to who? "Who is caliph? He is mureed, I am mureed, He is shaykh, I am shaykh." Believe me, no one of us reached to be a mureed yet. There is no mureed. I won't explain this but that needs long explanation.
So he said, "I am choosing you to be successor." "I don't want." What you don't want. Shaykh is saying and you don't want. He said, "Ya Sayyidee." He said, "This is coming from the Prophet (s), and you are saying 'I don't want it'?" Ya Sayyidee, with all my respect I cannot carry that." So Shaykh Sharafuddin was not feeling good. He came to the Prophet (s) in the association of awliyaullah and said to the Prophet (s) "this is what is happening." The Prophet (s) said, "Ask him why."
He came back after Fajr, and said, "Ya waladee, why you don't want?" He said, "Ya sayyidee what is the benefit if I give a lecture and they don't listen and they don't act on what I am saying? It is a waste of time for me and wasting their time." He said, " sadaqta it is true." Is it not? "So what do you want then?" He said, "I want something simple. Give it to me then I will accept." "What is it?" "I want from the Prophet (s) and I want from you, if anyone comes and sits with me, and from whatever level I speak and what kind of wali I mention his name, and what he does, I want these people who are listening to be raised up immediately to the level of that wali. Anyone sitting with me I want him to be raised to my level that I am sitting. If you accept, I accept."
So Shaykh Sharafuddin cannot accept that. He cannot accept directly. That means only by listening and sitting you will be lifted to that level of knowledge of that wali tat is mentioned, and that level of power. Because he knows anyone sits it goes in one ear and comes out the other ear. No one acts on anything. Is it not? It is not an amusement. Amusement, go to the movie, or to roller skaters, amusement areas. That is it. Spend one hour, two hours, eat candies, drink water and then y`Allah. No, he wants that association to be raised so that whatever he is speaking, it has to be raised up to that level. As the association now they all have to be raised to the level of Mawlana Shaykh Sharafuddin and Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, because they have that secret. Not because of us, no we don't have anything. But because we have been authorized on their behalf, so this majlis, this association is their association. This association is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim's association. He is the one that is responsible. We have no rights to say "We are the shaykh; I am your shaykh." No right. If we say "I am your shaykh" or anyone says, "I am your shaykh." Or anyone thinks that he took baya`…
Many people they come and say "I took baya` from you." No, no, not that is incorrect. If you think you took baya` from me you lost. We always have to tell them always, the baya`, we are only like a bridge, we are only like a car that takes you to your destiny, your your goal, and leave you there. We are only a vehicle to take you to the presence of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. That is it. When you take baya`, your baya` is with him. Don't ever say, "I took baya` to `Ali and `Ali is my shaykh." Many people are falling into this problem. That is why sickness is spreading everywhere among Naqshbandis and representatives of Mawlana Shaykh. Because after a while they consider they are the shaykh. They don't listen to anyone except if their "shaykh" is present. They don't move except by permission of their so-called shaykh. That is a big problem.
So Shaykh Sharafuddin said, "O my son I will ask." So that night Shaykh Sharafuddin in the Diwan al-Awliya asked the Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) said, "I am accepting. He said, "no one asked that from all awliyaullah except your son. Not that particular request to uplift the follower. They know we cannot do anything we are under our ego.
If the Prophet (s) is asking, "O Allah don't leave me to my ego. So how is Grandshaykh going to accept.
So Shaykh Sharafuddin was going to pass away and before passing away he called Grandshaykh and said to him, I am passing away after three days and he took the will and gave to him and said, "you are authorized to continue the order of tariqah and the wazaa'if of tariqah. …he was said because he was his uncle, his mother's brother, and he was the shaykh that raised him. And when he passed away and they were washing him, and when Grandshaykh and other mureed s were washing him, all the mureeds were coming to have a hand in it because it is barakah. So Shaykh Sharafuddin was laying down, he left dunya, he is deceased, and his hands were on the bed like that you know they fall down. As soon as they begin to wash him then his right hand was raised and turned, look at my hand, closed and became like a cup. And then as they are washing, people coming and drinking, baraka of that water. When everyone passed and took some of that water and then his hand came back down. That is a miracle that happened after his death, when they are washing him. See how awliyaullah how they are living.
I think I mentioned that it in the Naqshbandi Sufi Way book.
So they washed him, Mawlana Grandshaykh prayed on him and buried him and Grandshaykh came back and took the will and tear it and went to the river and threw it in the river.
Anyone will do that? He said, "What is the benefit? To please my ego?"
Today they tell you "We need from you ijaza." What ijaza, who are you to give ijaza? On what responsibility are you giving ijaza.
We are Naqshbandis we have to learn from what happened before with your shuyukh. So Grandshaykh said, "What I have to tell people I am the calipha in order to my ego to become bigger. They like me, they like me, I am not interested." So after Shaykh Sharafuddin no one knew who is the calipha except a very few. He was the calipha and he tore it. Threw it away. Look he doesn't want to please his ego. Now what we do, we frame it, make copies and distribute so people come and kiss our hands. That is what is happening.
When Grandshaykh passed away, before he passed away by one week, he wrote his will. Look how it works. This is to learn - only for us to learn. Mention these to learn. But he said, "I am leaving." We were young and we were crazy we cannot accept that Mawlana will leave this dunya. I am not going to disclose everything but take some of these things because there is no time.
So he wrote his will and he gave it to us, he said, "one you put in my grave; one you show it to people to know who is after me and whom I appointed."
We took the will, the will was there and there were five people at that time. After one week he passed - he left dunya. So no one saw the will, and that day when we were burying him, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim was in Cyprus. He was not there. So we tried to reach him, to send messages. At that time in the 70's it was very difficult to reach by phone or you want to send a telegram, it was not like now.
So in any case all these `ulama of Sham, scholars of Damascus, like Grandshaykh when the janaaza when Grandshaykh passed away was 20,000, 30,000 people and all these scholars coming and they want to bury and to go. It is Ramadan. It is Dhuhr time they want to bury and go. All of them standing in line because when you bury what do you do? So all of them went inside the mosque, because we refused to bury him in the cemetery, we went to the haffaar al-quboor, gravedigger and said to him and said to him we need to open a grave in the masjid, in the maqam. So he said, "no, ...we cannot do that." We said, "ok, you dig and don't say anything, then go and dig one in the cemetery. So begin with that one, and everyone knows it is that one, and at the last moment we will do it." He said, "No problem." He loves Mawlana Shaykh.
So all these `ulama they are standing in line at the cemetery and the coffin stayed at that masjid. They prayed and then came to the cemetery to bury him. And we said, me and my brother, two of us, crazy ones at that time. We said, "Anyone likes to stay, stay, and anyone like to go, go. We are not going to bury him until Mawlana Shaykh Nazim comes." Eh, Mawlana in Cyprus.
At that moment, someone out of the blue, his name is Nazeer Hisham - he passed away recently may Allah bless his soul, – he came and said…. How he came? And he said, "Mawlana Shaykh Nazim called; and he is on his way, coming."
So these `ulama got angry and said, "we are going." They shaking hands with us and they left. And we were waiting and waiting.
That man didn't say how he received from Mawlana Shaykh a call. Might be Grandshaykh putting on his tongue or Mawlana Shaykh put it on his tongue.
And it reached Maghrib time and adhaan being called, it is Ramadan, and the coffin still there, not buried yet. And Mawlana was coming; coming up the stairs.
In any case, at that time, we went together and he buried him and we came out. We said, "Mawlana we have the will." We prayed Maghrib, we broke fast and prayed and then... Next day Mawlana said, "I am going back." So then there was no direct flight from Syria. You have to go back to Beirut. So we went with him and he stayed in our house in Beirut and he was sitting. We said, "Do you want to see the will?" He said, "Not now, not now." Next day he was tired he was crying. He said, "Bring the will." We brought the will he kissed it and he said, "Put it back in the safe box." So we put it in my father's safe box. No one can get in that one, you need dynamite to open it. And we were so worried that no one can get to that will, to lock it.
So we slept that day, next day Mawlana Shaykh going back to Cyprus. Went to the airport and the key with us. My uncle who is head of scholars of Lebanon, said, "I want to see the will." So we said ok, we went to the safebox to get the will to bring my uncle to see it, we opened the safebox, and, no more will. No one saw that will except 4, 5 people. He didn't want. He didn't say, "give it to me," make a frame and hang it. Like today if we have a paper quickly we go and hang it. If it has signature of Mawlana Shaykh we hang it.
So awliyaullah always they are worried to make themselves higher than the others. Because they want. .. Respect comes from heavens they are not waiting respect from human being. Because respect from human being is good but they don't want to trick their egos, they want first heaven to be accepting them. They want Allah swt to be accepting them.
Imagine Iblees, Allah cursed him, the one who did not leave one place he didn't make sajda. For one disobedience Allah cursed him. How many disobediences a day we are doing? And we think we are this, I don't want to say; we think we are high level awliyaullah.
So we have to feel we are the worst. I will end with this story.
Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani , famous as the head of Khatm al-Khwajagan. Because of him, Khatm al-Khwajagan begin. He has thousands of students in his time. You know how he makes dhikr? He has a well? You know the well. He goes in the well until he reaches the water, goes under the water, make dhikr quickly and then go up and breath. And the water is freezing. It is very cold, in Merv, near Bukhara today. Why? Because Shaytan cannot come in the water. Jinn cannot go in water because they will be burned immediately, water will put them down. So he goes in there to make sure his dhikr is accepted, he goes in the water, take a big breath, and go in the water, make dhikr for half a minute. He goes in the water, makes sure to take a big breath, then go down and make dhikr. So all night he is doing that, going up and going down to make dhikr. Awliyaullah they are struggling like this against their ego, not like us, we are playing.
We are attending dhikr every week and we are saying "it is too much." We are coming and attending and eating chocolates.
So one of the mureeds. One day they prayed `Isha all the mureeds with Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani they left he masjid, except one of the mureeds he was there sitting, because they locked the masjid and he was inside. And he was speaking to himself: "O stupid person. Your Shaykh asked you to do this awraad and you did it one day and you didn't do it another day. Or you did them with your ego and it is not accepted. Then in order not to make you contaminate your brothers and sisters he ordered you to cut wood in the forest. And you were not able to cut the wood, you come in evening with one wood or two wood for fire, it is not enough. And Shaykh ordered you to look after his sheep because all shuyukh they have sheep to eat. And you look after sheep you destroy his flock. Why did you destroy his flock? Because when first of Rajab comes you say, "O, Rajab came, you slaughtered 1, 2, 3 sheep - without asking your shaykh. Then 27th Rajab comes you go and slaughter some more without asking your shaykh. 15th, nisf-Sha`ban comes you slaughter 15 more. Eid comes, slaughter; hajj comes, Eid al-Adha comes, slaughter. Muharram comes, Ashura comes, Mawlid an-Nabi (s) comes and you slaughter. You finished your shaykh's sheep stock in one year. So you are the worst of the worst."
Look at that, awliyaullah look at when it comes the moment of giving the trust they look at that. He said, "I am swearing an oath that I am worse than Iblees." Who can say that? Who is the worst Allah cursed in this world? Iblees. He is telling this to his ego, and he has the right to say whatever he likes, he is not making kufr. He said, "You, my ego, is worse than Iblees. And if I am not saying the truth, my ego, then my wife is divorced from me!
That is to confirm 100% that he is in satisfaction 100% with what he is saying, else he will not say "my wife will be divorced from me." Else it will be haraam between him and his wife.
Then he heard his Shaykh Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani , his shaykh was hiding behind the pillar and he heard him and he was laughing, "hahaha." He said, "O my Shaykh you are here?" "Of course I am here." He came and said, "sit like this." And so Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani was sitting on his knees and the mureed was sitting on his knees. And he said, "look into my heart." So the mureed was looking and Sayyidina Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani with his right finger was turning it and shooting it, shooting to his heart with his finger. This is how awliyaullah work. They give they give. He gave to this heart six powers. Six realities. He opened them. Because in every human being heart these six realities are there but they are scrambled. They are coded. You need to decode them. You need remote control. So he was using his finger as remote control. Haqiqat al-jazbah, Haqiqat al-fayd, Haqiqat at-tawajjuh, Haqiqat at-tawassul, Haqiqat al-irshad, Haqiqat at-tayy. These six powers, he decoded them back and opened them to him. As soon as he opened these six realities to him he was lighter than a bird and he was flying, he was raised up to the ceiling of the dome hitting his head and coming back down. And he was going up and down. And he said to his shaykh, "In tariqah is there this kind of miracles?" He said, "This the beginning." He gave him Haqiqat al-jazbah, the reality of attraction. That means you can attract someone to you with just looking at him, without doing anything to him, that light attracts him to you. Haqiqat al-jazbah, Haqiqat al-fayd, Haqiqat at-tawajjuh, Haqiqat at-tawassul, Haqiqat al-irshad, Haqiqat at-tayy.
All these six realities, I explained them I am not going to explain now, it is in the heart of every individual. But it needs to be decoded. It means the Shaykh has to give you the remote control. When will he give you the remote control when you become like that mureed. It is not simple and it is not easy. I will tell you one day how Grandshaykh gave the secret to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim . Because of what, because of what he said, he gave him the trust. It was in Madinat al-munawwara. So the important of what I want to say is that the fame is for our sultan. The honor is for our Sultan; the dignity is for our Sultan. We have to see ourselves in need of everyone sitting here we are in need to kiss their hand and their feet. Why? Because if they are not here to whom are you going to speak? You are in need of whom? You are in need of them. They are not in need of you. You are in need of everyone. Since you are in need of everyone you have to go and say think you. "Who thanks Allah's servants is thanking Allah." You cannot say "Ya Rabbee shukran lak, thank you, Ya Rabb," and not thank His servants. That is hadith of the Prophet (s). man shakr al-khalq shakrallah. Whoever thanks Allah's servants is thanking Allah. And Allah said in Holy Qur'an:
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِنشَكَرْتُمْ
"wa la'in shakartum la-azeedanakum - If ye are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you;"
So we are thanking Allah that he made us with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. Your shaykh is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim . Your baya` has to be to Shaykh Nazim ; your love has to be to Shaykh Nazim ; if you focus on someone else you are reducing your love. That is a big problem. There is no time now to explain it now, but when Shaykh Sharafuddin was explaining to Grandshaykh the power of Shah Naqshband, Grandshaykh, some of his love went to Shah Naqshband . And he was told by Shaykh Sharafuddin, "don't do that." And Shah Naqshband appeared to him at that time, and taught him how to have love to his Shaykh. And you can check it on sufilive.com we have over one thousand three hundred lectures there. So all of them live. I cannot give everything in one session. But check there. May Allah keep us all together under the banner of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim
Bi-hurmatil-Fatiha.
The Duty Of A Wali And The Duty Of A Follower

Fenton, MI US
Audhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem
Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-
riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-
masjid
As we said in the previous session that Allah swt is waiting for us to
reach Him, to come to Him. But there is between and Him there are veils, between us and Prophet there are veils. Our shuyukh , Mawlana
Shaykh said that “There are 70,000 veils between us and Prophet. Every veil is thicker than this universe.”
That is the way we are, we cannot see, like a blind person. We are in
dhulmah, darkness.
But always the opposite of darkness is light. It is light waiting for us. So as long as our ego is with us that darkness is in front of us. As long as the ego disappears, darkness disappears because darkness comes from Iblees and light comes from Allah swt.
Iblees asked his Lord. He believes, he cannot say “I don’t believe.”
اHe said, "O my Lord leave to the Day of Judgment. Not to the Day of
Judgment but until You take everything from this earth. I will be after your servants.” Innaka lamin al-mundhireen ila waqt il-m`aloom. [15:36-38]
“I am leaving you to the day that I want, that I know; not the day you
want.” He wanted to be [left free] until Resurrection Day. But Allah said “no, I am leaving you to the day I assign. You are not the one who can assign. So I am leaving you.”
So Iblees, he knows. He asked Allah swt “leave me to the Resurrection
Day.” Allah accepted. Azahmat Allah.
Al-`afuw `inda al-maqdira - To forgive when you are able to forgive.
You are able to harm and you are able to forgive. You are asking, Allah said, "so I am giving to you.”
Here you have 2 issues. 1) Iblees is believing in Allah and knows that
Allah is the one who can give everything and he asked him to give.
2) And Allah responded and gave.
That means if we ask do you think Allah doesn’t give? Iblees was asking with strong faith that “you are my Lord. I committed the sin, I
am confirming it. Yes You are my Lord but I am going to show You: I
can go and trick them.” Therefore Allah said, "ok go ahead. We will see who is stronger, you or My mercy.
So whoever says la ilaha illa-Allah muhammadun Rasulullah, will enter
Jannah. So don’t worry. But awliyaullah want us to worry; they want to cut that rock down. They want to bring that diamond out.
So after that darkness the light is there. The light of the moon is there, the light of the sun is there. When you enter the light you will be surprised. Awliyaullah were stunned when they entered that light. That mean they entered a state or a level where they can see what people cannot see.
We are running, running, running for what. Everyone has a goal and
trying to run to it.
You are coming here or going there, or going to other places. You are
asking something that your soul is in need for that. You have to know
that Allah happy with you and prophet is happy with you else you will
never come so far. It is not easy to come to the door of awliyaullah to come to door of Mawlana Shaykh if you were not chose you would not be here.
How many people are lost. They don’t know where is the door. They are struggling although we know the door. But we are not doing what is necessary to open the door. But they are opening the door from their love to you. You think they are asking anything for you.
Wa ma nursilu bil-ayati illa takhweefa
We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil). [17:59]
“We only send the verses of Holy Qur'an to scare you.” Allah said in
Holy Qur'an. “We only send what We say to you is to scare you, because when you are scared you come back to normal.”
You are off track. Then they say to the pilot, “You are off track.” Where is that captain? Captain! [wakes up] [just out of track] when you are fling and you are off track, so what the computer says to you?
“Go in opposite Direction” go and correct yourself. So immediately you
correct himself. That Is the first level. That is the lower level. You go off track and immediately. They send you a signal you are off track.
The higher level is computerised. It will correct itself by itself. You are all computerized. When you gave initiation from Mawlana Shaykh finished your system is computerized. They have to work we are not responsible. They have to be responsible. They accepted to give their hands. Since they gave it they cannot pull it, finished. That is why, be careful, don’t have doubts. Doubts is dangerous. Awliyaullah don’t like anyone to doubt their power. Keep your faith strong in awliyaullah keep your faith storing in prophet, keep your faith in your Creator: your problems will be solved. “Ya Rabbee! for the sake of Your awliyaullah solve our problems - we are weak servants.”
So as soon as you gave your hand you are in light, but still veiled you are computerized. They correct you from within your heart. That is why sometimes you feel yourself regretting what you have done. If you were not computerized why do you have to regret what you have done?
Those who don’t believe don’t feel they have a problem. They don’t know so it doesn’t mean anything to them. But for you, you do. You immediately remember, and forget. You say istaghfirullah. Like alarm
system, it comes immediately ringing the bell.
If you give, if you take the hand of the Shaykh and the guide then you
are eating sweets. If you have a guide you will be saved, dunya and akhira. If you don’t have a guide as if you are eating broken glass. Every bite there is a wound. Your system will be wounded form mouth to stomach to intestines. Awliyaullah if you take their hands, they will
turn that glass into sweetness. You know they do glass from candy, from sugar. You think it is glass but it is sugar, it is sweet. That glass awliyaullah can turn to sweetness. Don’t think their hands are tight, they are not like us, they can do everything. We cannot do anything.
When they pass you from darkness to light immediately the sun of ma`rifatullah will rise in the horizon of your heart and you will be able to differentiate what to follow and were to follow.
Let us say the truth. We are still struggling and we are still far. We don’t know, like a child, you can see the children, very young children, where do they look? They have a focus in front of them. They
don’t allow themselves to turn away from what they are focusing on.
Always they focus on one thing, not on two. They are focusing on somewhere. And you see them, when they focus, always they feel the
presence of that one: either the mother or the father. They are always
focusing on the mother or the father. As soon as they see that there
is a problem in front of them - although it might not be a problem - but as soon as they are scared they extend the hand to pull the hand
of the mother or the father.
So also those who took initiation always when they are facing a problem, their hands go where? To their guide. Do you think the mother or the father will not give the hand to the child? Even if they don’t, the child will reach the hand of the parent and pull them.
Awliyaullah accepted to be our fathers, then they have to carry our burdens. “Ya Rabbee you put them guide on us. They have to take with our hands. They cannot drop it they are responsible. Else why are they giving baya`. That is not free. There is a price they are paying for
it out of their love.”
That is why we are not understanding but those whose veils have been
taken, though we are in light because of their guidance, but still there is a veil because we have to overcome our ego. Everything is ego. I don’t know why Allah swt put ego on us?
It is out of His love because He wants us to struggle to get more. He put ego, and He knows best. He put whatever He put. But He… haha … f He wanted to not put ego, He would not have put ego and make us to suffer.
Now what we are? We are suffering. He likes you to suffer because He
wants you to appreciate the goodness that He is giving. The generosity
He is giving. We cannot understand generosity unless we lose it. When
we lose our health we understand it; when we lose wealth we understand it. When we lose anything then we understand and we can appreciate.
The best thing to lose is arrogance and anger, the bad characteristics
that ego is carrying.
Even Sayyidina Musa Alayhissalam who is a prophet from the uli’l azam, he is a high prophet from the five high prophets. He said, "O Allah let me see You!” He is a prophet. The only one that saw Allah is the Prophet Muhammad (s), with the eyes of his head. Let those who deny that go to Imam Nawawi. He said that. Go and ask from him. We are only taking from that and quoting from him in Sharh Sahih Muslim, where he said, "The Prophet saw his Lord with the eyes of his head.”
Because he is the mirror, of course he is going to see. Because everything you see is reflected in the Divine mirror. Everything is reflected in the mirror, then it appears. Who is the mirror? Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is the mirror. Sayyidina Musa Alayhissalam is not the mirror. He is one of the very high prophets of the five highest ones. But Prophet Muhammad (s) is Seal of the Messengers and he is the...
So Nabi Musa Alayhissalam, he said “Ya Rabbee! Let me see You!” And he kept asking. Ask as much as you want to see how much he will push.
So say, “Ya Rabbee! I am Your servant. You created me like that; a burden. I am Your servant and asking You, give me!”
If Sayyidina Musa Alayhissalam had gone to the presence of the Prophet (s), Allah would have given him. But he went directly.
You have to go through an intercessor. There is no way to go directly. He went directly and so Allah sent him back. Sayyidina Musa Alayhissalam, he is speaking with Allah directly. “You want to see Me,
I will not say ‘no’ to you.” Because he was what? He was consistent; he keeps asking and asking and asking. Allah said, with His generosity. “I accept but with one condition. Look at the mountain. I will manifest My Beautiful Names and Attributes on the mountain. If the mountain will stay after I manifest to it, then you can see Me.”
And when Moses came [to Mount Sinai] at the time set by Us, and his
Sustainer spoke unto him, he said: "O my Sustainer! Show [Thyself] unto me, so that I might behold Thee!" Said [God]: "Never canst thou see Me. However, behold this mountain: if it remains firm in its place, then - only then - wilt thou see Me. And as soon as his Lord revealed His glory to the mountain, He caused it to crumble to dust; and Moses fell down in a swoon. And when he came to himself, he said: "Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Unto Thee do I turn in repentance; and I shall [always] be the first to believe in Thee!" [Surat Al-A'raf (The Heights) 7:143]
It didn’t happen like that. When Allah tajala `ala al-jabala – manifested to the mountain, the mountain cannot take it anymore. What happened?
When Allah manifested his Beautiful Names and Attributes to the
Prophet (s):
“inna anzalnahu fee laylati ’l-qadr - We have revealed the Qur'an to
your heart on the Night of Power.” And it didn’t crash down.
Law anzalna hadha al-qurana `ala jabalin la-raaytahu khashi`an
mutasaddi`an min khashyatillahi wa tilka al-amthaalu nadribuha lin-
naasi la`allahum yatafakkaroona.
Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily, thou wouldst have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes which We propound to men, that they may reflect.
[Surat al-Hashr, 59:21]
“If We had revealed the Holy Qur'an to a mountain it would have shattered.”
When Allah reveled his Beautiful Names and Attributes to the Prophet
(s), because it [Beautiful Names and Attributes] is part of Holy Qur'an, and Qur’an is not makhluq, created, it is from Allah’s Ancient Words. When He revealed it to the Prophet (s) his heart was taking it. When Allah revealed it to a mountain it will be shattered.
When Allah tajala to the mountain, then the mountain shattered and
Musa Alayhissalam fainted. Kharra musa sa’iqan. When he woke up and opened his eyes what did he see?
Ibn `Abbas explained that verse of Holy Qur'an:
When he wakes up, what he saw? Ibn `Abbas said: “He saw the Prophet (s). He saw the Prophet (s) and all the other prophets in rows. Some standing and some making sajda. 313 were making sajda behind the Prophet and the rest of 124,000 prophets were standing.” He didn’t see the Divine Presence. What did he see? He saw the Leader and Master of all prophets.
It means “everything, ya Musa is reflected through the Prophet. If you went to him and came to Me through him, then it is ok.”
It is like… you cannot say that, but [simply] as an example. Like when
you want to take electricity you cannot take direct from the source; you need a transformer.
“Ya Musa Alayhissalam! you cannot take directly from Me. You need someone to reduce the power from the source. Even though you are one of the five main messengers, but everything has its discipline.”
And awliyaullah through their knowledge…. How do they acquire knowledge? Knowledge is not difficult [to acquire] if you follow their ways. Their ways is to be consistent on what they ask you to do.
Prophet showed Sayyidina Abu Bakr, what Sayyidina Abu Bakr saw he gave to Sayyidina Salman and what Salman saw he gave to Sayyidina Qassim; and from Sayyidina Qassim to Sayyidina Ja`far... It is a chain of command, one to one, one to one, until it reached you. If you follow
you will be in the train there. You are jumping in the wagons and the
engine is pulling all the cars and that “engine” is Sayyidina Muhammad
(s).
So be consistent on what you are told to recite and read. Don’t come after five years and say, “I am doing for five years and I cannot see anything.” Why do you have to see? That is not required. They see on
your behalf. Like today people learn basic knowledge in computer and
they want to see more. There are more things now with technology, the whole world is connected. Out of greediness we want to know everything. For what to know? Less knowledge, easy life. Too much knowledge, too much difficulties. Basic knowledge: I know how to pray
and to make wudu. That is enough.
Come and listen. Eat sweets and candies and go. No responsibility. Let
our shuyukh take responsibility. They took the lead, ok let them take
responsibility. They cannot blame you; they know you are helpless and
weak. So Allah swt wants consistency from us. He wants to see if we
keep asking and asking and asking. And this is what Grandshaykh always says, “You have to come and put this in front of you.” Don’t come and say, “I am student and I am `alim and I am representative.” “Ok,” Shaykh will say, “I am accepting that, you are me.” But you and me have to have three focuses. Three nails in your forehead. And when you put a nail you cannot take it out. What can take the nail out? Pliers? No, because when the nail goes inside it has no head. You cannot pull it. Then only one thing can pull it – another nail. You put another nail and hammer it. The other will go.
So finished. When you take hand of the Shaykh you are under 3 nails.
That is your job, no more. They know how to take that nail out. He said, "Always in front of his students, in front of those who are listening to him, you have to have 3 nails.”
The first nail is “if an ant is on the east and Allah swt tell the ant and commands her, ‘O my ant, the creature I created you and your rizq is in the west,’ the ant moves and it doesn’t stop and for sure it isn’t going to reach the west. It might be she needs to be surviving forever in order to reach the west. But the ant, what it does? It moves. Don’t say “no.” And how the ant knows where the food is? And you see the ants moving and finding. Who inspired them how to find the food? Who inspired you, inspired them. Allah swt. So the ant moves. And she knows it cannot reach. But her job is to move.
Our job is like that. If they tell us “You are in the east and our trust is in the west, you are in darkness and your trust and light are in the west” you do what? You keep moving. Don’t stop. Like someone in the desert. What does he do? He doesn’t stop. If you stop you are finished.
Then inayatullah will reach you. Allah’s mercy, Grandshaykh used to call reeh as-siba.And that breath will come and carry you to the west
immediately and you get your trust.
Second nail: If they give you broken shovel and say “your trust is deep in the center of the earth. What is your duty to do? Take your shovel and begin your work. We say: “O my Lord this shovel is broken, and it is only half a shovel; how can I dig?” Your duty is to dig. You may not ask that. Then reeh as-siba, the cool breeze comes and takes you to center of the earth.
The third nail is, you have to empty the ocean. Your trust is under the ocean. They don’t tell you to dive, no, not yet. They say, “empty the ocean” and they give you bucket full of holes. They know you cannot empty the ocean, even with a turbine pump with its own generator. They give you bucket full of holes and say “clear the ocean.”
When they were clearing birr Zamzam, they were not able, digging and digging and cleaning, and they were not able to reach the final source as the water coming is so huge. So they brought two huge turbines and they pumped the water. But as soon as they take the whole water out, in 2-3 seconds the whole water comes back under the Ka`bah.
How are you going to empty the ocean? But your duty is what? To try.
Then they take you and dive you down.
So your duty is to keep consistent on what they gave you to do. Then
they take you to the light. There is no light you can achieve by yourself. Only if awliyaullah take you to Sayyidina Muhammad. He is mirror everything. We must feel we are blocked. Say, “Ya Rabbee, You
opened for your awliyaullah! You open for us because we are coming to You and You are generous. And our shuyukh are generous. Your Beloved one [Habibullah] is generous. Open to us with Your favors and mercy that at least we can smell from that heavenly smell!”
As I am saying this the presence of Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh was there. We want to see them. Some people, Allah gave them power they close their eyes and their Shaykh is in front of them. “Give us that Ya Rabbee! The power to not only smell them and hear them but to see them. To see the Holy Prophet (s).”

The Power of Awliya Allah

Audhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem
Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid
Ati` Allah wa ati` ar-rasula wa uli 'l-amri minkum
Usually when we go to anywhere to apply for anything you will go to apply for a passport they ask you “what’s your name?” You apply for a marriage, they ask you “what’s your name?” If you go to school they ask you “what is your name?” You have to put your name on every test and if you don’t know your name you cannot get your ticket or your passport.
Also awliyaullah are asking us “what is our name”, in order that we can know what kind of a… in which door we are going to enter. Are we going to enter this door or that door? You cannot enter a door other than the door your name is written on. And always you like to enter a door, a place where there is some kind of important [event] or a palace. You don’t want to enter a shack. A burning shack? Huh?
So what is the best door you can enter? For sure it is not the door of dunya, it is the door of akhira. The door of dunya, if you are looking for a door that takes you to the door of akhira that is good. If you are looking for a door that is taking you to punishment in akhira that is bad.
So there are two doors, either your name is sa`eed or your name is shaqee. Either your name is “happy” or your name is “troublemaker” shaqee means a bad one whose life is always bad. So it is either one of these two names, either you are sa`eed having good ending, and good happy life or you are going to have a troubled life. That is why sa`eed or shaqee. And this is for sure you are, either you are this or you are that. Either you are sa`eed or you are shaqee. And no one knows what will happen, which door you are going to be and which name you have. Only Allah knows this and that is in his unseen knowledge. That is why in Laylat nisf sha`ban, the Night of Mid-Sha`ban [when]:
yamhullah ma yasha’ wa yuthbitu wa `indahu ummu’l-kitab.
Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book [13:39]
[On that night] we ask,“O Allah don’t make us shaqee but make us su`ada. Takes us from the bad people and put us to the good people.” Awliya know that du`a is there [is acceptable]. O human beings! This is in Allah’s Knowledge but Allah gave us ways to get out of it. He gave us a way to tell us “try to be good.
[He said,] “Take the mattresses of dunya and bring the mattresses of akhira.”
It means don’t be living a life that all in it is bad desires and bad pleasures, but live a life that is happy desires and good desires and good pleasures and good desires. To look in Allah’s way is to look for what Allah wants us to do and leave what Allah doesn’t want us to do.
Awliyaullah when their hearts are coming on the way of Allah swt on the sirat al-mustaqeem, they will listen to no one except Him. Whatever you ask them, they might give you an order that is different from what you think. They don’t accept to go according to your opinion.
These days awliyaullah they bring their level down to your level. Before, no. They will never accept. Because before people were more powerful on their faith, they have more strength on their faith, they will accept whatever comes from the shaykh. Today no. They will run away. That is why today you see the shuyukh who are so soft with their students they have hundreds, thousands, even hundreds of thousands of students. The people who are strict have very few students. People today like softness, they don’t like strictness.
Do you like to wear soft clothes or thick clothes? Soft! So they invented today a kind of detergent that makes your clothes to be soft. And so now everyone running to buy that detergent to make their clothes soft and give a nice smell. Softener. It takes away all the elements that are rough in order to make it very soft.
Did they have that 100 years ago? No, they had only soap, no detergent. Therefore everything reflects what is in this life. Before they didn’t have soft clothes; they are easygoing on what they do [i.e. ease was not a concern].
Today they want soft awliyaullah. To relax and sleep and the shaykh will do for you everything.
Fold up your mattresses, sleep on the floor and don’t be soft. If you life a life that is not soft you will live in akhira a life that is soft.
Today awliyaullah are very soft, and else all people will run from them. Today you see them they have followers from every race. You dump on him all your garbage and you don’t want any difficulty. If you face difficulty you run away. So what does he do? He carries all these difficulties and goes to the Prophet (s) and says, “I accept all this garbage” and goes to the Presence of Prophet (s) with all his followers, clean.
Awliyaullah they have softener. They soften you and give you a good smell. You put Bounce to have a good smell. You are stinky, what kind of Bounce do you need? We need a big package of Bounce. The awliyaullah take a big package and they carry their followers and present them to the Prophet (s) with their nice smell. Then prophet with his love takes them all in and with his shafa`a takes to the presence of Allah. Prophet has shafa`a in dunya and akhira.
Are we gong to enter through door of light, where Allah is nur as-samawati wal ard.
Or we are going to enter from door of darkness, dhulumat. Allah wants us to enter through door of light.
So awliyaullah don’t listen except to Allah swt. They don’t want you to enter except by door of happiness. They don’t see you. They cover your mistakes they don’t want to see it. They try to vile you form these mistakes. They want tot see Divine Presence and they want to take you there. If they see your big mistakes they cannot easily take you. From that power of Sattar, they cover you completely; to cover you from being naked. When we do something wrong we become naked and so they cover us.
They a re between majesty and beauty, they don’t bend right or left. They have only a front. You know we have a front and a back. They don’t have a back. They have a front only. Lahum amam wa laysa lahum wara. That means they are always looking straight forward. What happened , happened. They are living their moments. Allah is saying come forward. We say, “no we want to go backwards.” They say, “Come to ma`rifatullah.” “No! we want to go back.”
Awliyaullah don’t look back. That means, what happened [before], it is finished it is gone. If you bring it up it is not acceptable, it is not nice, then it becomes backbiting. Why is it called “back” biting. It means biting in the back. They bite you.
Who is biting you? It means anyone who looks back is biting your back and carrying your sins. The Prophet (s) prohibited backbiting. When you look forward and don’t look backward then ins will become your servant. They will come to you and they will help you and they will work for you without you asking. Why? Because you are always moving forward always facing the Divine Presence and as we mentioned the story of the Prophet (s) when he put the Sahaba in front of him and the sun at their back and said to them to catch their shadows. Then when they could not, he told them, “Put the sun at your back. Catch your shadow and run.” Then he said, " look to me and run” and the sun was behind them. Then their shadows ran towards them. That means “look to me, and come to me!” Then dunya will run after you. Then dunya will become your servant as Allah provided Sayyida Maryam, he provides everything.
He provided His Prophet (s) with eveything. What did He say, “Inna a’tayna kal kawathar” – “Verily We have given thee (O Muhammad), the Fount of Kawthar.” [108:1]
That means on one meaning We have given you river of Kawthar. But on the other side it means “Verily We have given you endless knowledge and favors. Therefore, Praise Him (Your Lord) endlessly.
Verily, he who hates thee has indeed been cut off (from all that is good)! [108:3].
The one who spoke against the Prophet are the one who has no reputation.
It means:
Their name is going to end. Your name is until the Judgment Day. All prophets will run to you asking shafa`a with their umam, nations. Those who speak about you their reputation is cut and they cannot do anything. Don’t worry about yourself. Allah swt will make ins to run after you to help you. He makes jinn to help you. He makes kings and presidents to help you and makes all kinds of creations that we don’t know, that Allah and His Prophet (s) know and the awliyaullah learn from the Prophet (s) that there are living species, living creatures that you cannot see them.
The Prophet (s) used to send Sayyidina `Ali to these planets that are near the earth.
One time Sayyida Fatima came to the Prophet (s) and said, “I am not coming to complain to you, O my father, but I have a problem.” He said, "Do you have a problem with Sayyidina `Ali?” She said, "No, my father. I feel shy to mention it. But sometimes he doesn’t come at night for 2 or 3 days. I have no doubts, but I am worried about him.” He said, "Don’t worry, I sent him to the planets that are nearest to the earth.”
How was he able to go without space shuttle. Which planets. They say now they are going to Mars and to the moon. More than that are they going we don’t know. We don’t know even, if they made the pictures up. But let us go with it, and say they went to those planets, how long it takes to send that spacecraft to Mars? They send it and even then they cannot bring it back. And it takes 2-3 years. Sayyidina `Ali - it takes him one moment. What did he use? Don’t be surprised what he used. Allah gave His Prophet (s) power, he used that power.
Ya ma`ashara aljinni wa’l-insi ini istata`tum an tanfuthoo min aqtari as-samawati wal-ardi fa’nfudhoo la tanfudhoona illa bi-sultan.
O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass! [55:33]
It means, “O jinn and ins if you are able to penetrate from the atmosphere of this earth you go, but you need a vehicle, a sultan. Not to go and don’t come. “Go and come!” [go there and return] Allah said.
Sayyidina `Ali was going with that sultan, Sultan al-`ilm. Kun fayakoon. Allah gave the power to awliyaullah. Only drops or crumbs from Prophet’s power he gave to awliyaullah.
So Sayyidina `Ali was going with that power.
He makes jinn to serve you and he makes ins to serve you.
Look Sayyidina Sulayman when he wants to bring that throne of Sheba he asked the strongest jinn he has. That jinn, if he puts his hand on the mountain he will make it ashes. That was the strongest jinn he has.
He said: O chiefs! Which f you will bring me her throne before they come unto me, surrendering? A stalwart of the Jin said: I will bring it thee before thou canst rise from thy place. Lo! I verily am strong and trusty for such work. One with whom was knowedge of the Scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze returneth unto thee. [27:38-40]
He said, "I need that throne,” to that jinni. He said, "O Messenger of Allah I can bring it to you. But it is going to take the time until your meeting is finished. About 1 or 2 days.”
The distance from Yemen to Quds ash-Sharif, it takes a long time. He said, "my meeting will be over before that. I want it before she comes.” Then Asif ibn Barkhiyya, one of his ministers that had knowledge of the book of Dawud, Zaboor, he had sultan. He had that sultan, vehicle, mentioned in that verse [55:33]. He said, “I will bring that to you.” In the blink of an eye he bought it there.
In a blink of an eye the throne was there.
That is the power of ins (human beings). Don’t think ins don’t have power. When we say ins, we mean awliyaullah that are within human race. Allah will make these awliyaullah to work for you. Those who are in lower levels do work for those on higher levels. So Allah will make ins, jinn, scholars, president and kings, to work for you as you are looking forward, not looking backward. Let us cut our back, then we cannot look back. Why look back then. You look at the backs of others. You don’t see your own ego, that is a hump like the hump of a camel. You don’t look at your own hump. So why do you look at the back of people?
Awliyaullah only look at the faces of people and they take them to presence of the Prophet (s).
“Al-hikam wal-`ilm wal ma`rifah, takhdimahum - Wisdom, knowledge and gnosis serve them and their provisions are sincerity and their food is sincerity and the water that they drink is familiarity. They are in one valley and humans are in the other valley. They are in the valley where they only see Allah’s order and they try to pull out of the valley of this world the people who are falling in it - to pull them out and bring them to the presence of the Prophet (s).
They are the real inheritors of the Prophet (s).
Their duty their work is for Allah swt;
They don’t work for dunya;
Their work is to save humanity.
Their presence on this earth is a blessing and a mercy.
Their presence is light.
Their presence is oceans.
Their presences are rivers.
They are like the dew on the leaves in the early morning.
They are the dew of the hearts of every being.
They are the light upon light.
They are the oceans of knowledge
They are the pen that can write and the tongue that can speak
and the heart that can love
and they are the body that they can sail as a vehicle
or as a vessel sailing in the ocean of knowledge.
May Allah forgive us and may Allah bless us, wa min Allah at-tawfeeq, bi-hurmatil Fatiha.

Obey Allah, obey his prophet and obey those who are on authority. Women 4:59
Sometimes people because of their short visions, they might give an analysis that diminishes the respect of people. That is why you have to be very careful in a situation that too much, give too much, like you praise someone so much, he thinks he knows everything and he covers all areas. Like these …. [adhan sounds, Mawlana stands up] They think they cover all areas because they become professors and they become doctors. Not these doctors [points to the doctors in audience] but especially doctors in Islamic Shariah. As soon as they get jealous from medical doctors because medical doctors are the ones who are called doctors. We know this since we are children. We never called a scholar a doctor. I never heard that except recently in the last 30 or 40 years. When we were young in our twenties or less we never heard someone is called doctor in Shariah.
They got jealous now from medical doctors, now everyone wants to call himself a doctor. With respect to their knowledge you want a scholar to be a real scholar at least he has to have decent respect to the Prophet (s). He has to have at least a respect to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) that when he speaks he knows what he is speaking. And because in front of their name "doctor" they think they have the right to say anything they like.
Unfortunately, [picture falls] this is a sign, another sign. So there is a sign in everything. Humbleness is needed to someone to be respected - he has to be humble. Not humble in your house or humble when you speak with someone, but to be humble to know you knowledge is not enough compared to knowledge of awliyaullah or Sahaba or the Prophet (s). Don't try to speak as if the Prophet (s) doesn't know.
I was looking at this article in this newspaper. It is from al-Ahram, an Egyptian newspaper, international page and I am looking, they spoke, they are speaking about at-Tibb an-Nabawi, showing it, the Prophetic Medicine. And if you look at these pictures only one has a turban. Only one has a turban - you see it. All the rest they have tie and suit, is it not? And at least keep respect. If they want to say, "we are doctors," say, "we are doctors." In front of all their names, doctor, doctor,… except one in front of his name is shaykh and the rest no turbans and they have in front of their name dal, d. abbreviation for doctor.
And because they are doctors they think they know everything. Why? The Prophet (s) gave them his secrets? And they say things here that they don't feel shy or ashamed to mentioned. They are going to feel ashamed on Judgment Day and they say that the Prophet (s) doesn't know about prophetic medicine. They say the Prophet (s) doesn't know; why do we have to take what the Prophet (s) prescribed in his time? They were saying he was trying it on himself, thinking it will work.
One topic was "al-Qur'an shifa'un li's-sudoor wa laysa li'l-abdan – the Qur'an is cure for the hearts, and not for the bodies." What kind of … and this is a doctor, ad-dawktar among 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 doctors, everyone giving a different article. The other one says, "al-`Asr an-nubuwwah la yukaas `alayh - Something in the time of the Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) did in medicine and those people hukama wise people did is not something you can build on. That is wrong. Don't build on it. Go according to technology today.
Then another topic. "At-tibb lays bi-himmat arrusul - The medicine is not the responsibility of messengers."
Look the messengers are coming to guide human beings. Cannot the Prophet (s) Sayyidina Muhammad (s) - who went for Mi'raj - say to someone how to be cured and he will be cured? Instead they said "that is not the job of messengers."
So that is scholars today. Scholars of the Ummah.
Another scholar here in al-Qudsu 'l-Arabi, from another university. Yarmi qissat gharamahu bi zawjatahu ath-thaniyya. Narrating the story of the love with his second wife and he says:
Al-hubbu janoon wal-janoon funoon- love is craziness and craziness is a kind of art.
When you become crazy you become an artist.
Wal-hayaatu shujoon - life is something full of pain and suffering
Wa lillah fee khalqihi shu`oon - And Allah has in His servants what [different kinds of things, characteristics] He gave to them.
And he is speaking of his love for his second wife, and he is very famous, he is [even] called Shaykh al-Islam today. I don't have anything but respect for them. But don't bring Islam so low.
For Sayyidina Muhammad (s) you don't want to accept things he did and in one article you reject what he said and in another you don't feel ashamed to speak about what you did in love. That one might be very old and he is marrying someone very young. What effect on those who are very young if our shuyukh are doing something like that, what about they youth?
So these who call themselves doctors in Islam, they don't have any more wisdom. They don't have except what they memorized or what they learned. They are not like the four Imams: Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik or Imam Shafi`ee or Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal or other Imams who came through history. They are not wise anymore.
If they are wise at least five a good description of the Prophetic medicine. Don't say "it is not worth anything to do today." In everything that happened in this life, in everything that the Prophet (s) did there is wisdom. Didn't they read in Surat an-Najm, that even if the Prophet (s) coughs it is revelation:
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى Wa ma yantiqa an il-hawa in huwa illah wahyun yuhaa - and neither does he speak out of his own desire: that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired An-Najm, 53:3-4
He never said anything that is from his own desires. It has to be revelation.
Is it not Shaykh Abdus Sattar? [Yes haqqan.] haqqan wa sidqan. What they are saying in these articles is that all these medicines that the Prophet (s) used to prescribe for people are not important, as it is not revelation. It is an experience he tried it, it didn't work out, it failed.
It didn't fail. They are telling the Ummah that "don't follow the Prophet (s)." That is the smallest meaning we can understand. Because in everything that the Prophet (s) said there is a secret. Awliyaullah in every move they do, you go to a wali and ask "what do I have to read?" he will tell you what to read, and in it there must be a secret.
I will tell you a story. Grandshaykh may Allah bless his soul, he said, "Ahl ul-Aza'im ahlu't-tariqah. Ahlu 'l-aza'im at-tariqah are Ahl at-tariqah. Those who try to hold very tight on the azeema, on the strongest the highest level of Shariah law or discipline they try to hold on that not to go to easy way, the easy is allowed - no problem - but the highest way is better so they keep on the highest way.
Like for example the easy way when you want to go to sleep you don't sleep on wudu. But awliyaullah don't accept. They say we must sleep on wudu and must pray two raka`ats. And Ahl al-aza'im if they wake you up at night they must make new wudu if they get up at night [to use bathroom] that is in cold places even. Even if they go to bathroom five times they must make wudu and pray Sunnat al-wudu five times. That is different between Ahl al-aza'im vs. Ahl al-rukhas. He said al-wali min ahl al-aza'im.
They must take the hardest level on themselves but with students may take easier way.
He said that "according to their levels, Allah will open of them al-maqaam la-fardaani the Unique Station. It is a unique station. The al-maqaam la-fardaani, for every wali there is a unique station for that wali. And above all of them you reach to Sultan al-awliya the Ghawth, he is on the highest unique station the ibn `Arabi described in his Futuhat, that the Nabi (s) is the golden brick and on the other side facing him is Sultan al-awliya who is the silver brick. That means that Sultan al-awliya is always facing Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and receiving from him to dispatch to all other walis. And don't say there are only wali in Naqshbandi. There 124,000 wali. This one sitting beside you is a wali [points to Shaykh Abdus Sattar Khan]. Anyone in Chicago goes to him, Allah accepts his du`a.
So anyone who is in that circle of al-maqaam la-fardaani is going to be in the circle of the Prophet (s). And he said that, "one time", and I am quoting Grandshaykh in the story he mentioned. In his village there was a rich businessman in his area in Dagestan. Mawlana was young at that time. There was a rich man who wants to go for hajj. So they take first, they walk on camels until they reach a sea and they take a ship and they go for Jeddah, then Jeddah to Mecca. He was accompanying another person but that person was one from awliyaullah , a wali. So he took him with him and said, "You are my companion. I will spend everything on you, you come with me." That wali has reached the maqam al-fardani one of the unique stations. When you accompany a wali, don't think it is going to be easy now. It is better not to accompany now because your going and coming is not going to be easy. He wants to be sure your hajj is accepted. That is why he said there are three things you have to ask your shaykh. One is when you want to travel for hajj you have to ask your shaykh - he gives permission or not. Because not every time Allah sends His mercy or His manifestation on the people at Arafat. Because "hajj is Arafat." When you stand on Arafat that is hajj. Even if you didn't follow the rest; it will not be complete but you will be called hajji. So they look at Lawh al-Mahfouzh to see, "is it this year Allah is sending His Manifestation of his Beautiful Names and Attributes?" If not they tell you "don't go." They tell you "go next year." But if you never went, then you must go. Because it is an obligation. But when you begin to go more and more then you ask, as it is not an obligation.
Also when you want to marry, you might be in love with someone but you must ask the Shaykh as it might not be the one written for you. And when you want to migrate from one place to another you must ask. You cannot go without asking, these three places.
So he went to that man and said, "I want you to accompany me to hajj." And he said, "yes", and he took him and went. On the way they took a boat and they went on the boat. That man, like today, when you carry your passport and your money what do you do with it? You keep hiding it - you don't want to lose it.
Everyone is holding onto their money. So was that rich man who is accompanying that shaykh. That Shaykh is from the Naqshbandiyya from the silsilah of Grandshaykh. There are 7007 shaykhs. Not each one is carrying from the main line the secret. There might be one main shaykh and there are five or ten that he gives secrets, to do work here and there. So he was accompanying him and he told him, "Where are you putting your money?" He said, "I am putting it on my chest and I am tying it under my clothes. I don't want it to be lost." So he said, "give it to me - I will take care of it." So that man doesn't want to give it to that wali.
Sometimes we make mistakes. If a wali asks you something don't say "no". Allah might save you from many difficulties you don't know about.
So he said, "Give it to me; I will keep it for you." He said, "No, I am putting in a safe place."
So he said, "As you like." Then they were on the boat. And suddenly and this was one of these big boats that used to come to Jeddah, 90 years ago. On it, someone has a monkey on the boat. Bringing with him a monkey to Jeddah; it might be he wants to live there and raise monkeys, Allah knows. So that monkey came out of nowhere jumping on that man and stealing that money from that man and going all the way up on the sur, the mast of the boat. No one can reach there. And then he opened the bank, and in it was 1000 golden coins. One golden coin he throws to the man, and one golden coin he threw to the sea. One to the man, one to the sea. That man was crying that the money is gone. One to him, one to the ocean. One to him, one to the ocean until it is finished. 500 the ocean took and 500 the man took.
That man was so angry, he had his wife with him he was so angry. The wali said, "Why are you angry?" He said, "You didn't see what happened?" He said, "Ok, that is good what happened. But look nothing will happen without Allah's Will. And don't talk too much or else I will be away from you." Then he was worried as he knows this is a wali.
As they are speaking like that, the man is still angry but the wali is reciting some awraad and he is teaching it to the man's wife and she was hearing that and he asked her, "What are you learning?" He said, "Can I read it?" Then she … at the moment he was arguing with the shaykh his wife was taking ablution and she slipped and fell in the ocean. So look if you want to accompany the shaykh you may be under tests, difficulty. So that is why they say, "If you want to be near the shaykh it is being near fire."
So what happened? The lady disappeared. They looked, they stopped the boat they looked, they didn't find her. So the man was crying. He lost his wife and he lost his money. He was shouting, "What kind of shaykh are you? What kind of wali are you? Why did I bring you?"
Why I brought this story? These doctors, they don't understand the Prophetic medicine. They said, "no" to prophetic medicine: "why to eat this or that?" They don't know, they are not wise anymore. They were more wise in the past. Even `Ali al-Qaari they were finding very smallest detail to praise the Prophet (s) and now they are trying to find every smallest detail to put down the Prophet (s).
So what happened? That businessman kafara, not in the meaning that he denied Allah's Presence. We say kafara in Arabic, but in the meaning that he got fed up with the shaykh. He doesn't want to see him anymore.
The shaykh didn't talk anything and the boat is sailing. They reached the port. And the people are coming out. Look. And the man saw his wife. By the boat, on the dock. …
He was so happy that he saw his wife. And he looked at her and he said, "I am happy to see you. How you… you fell down in the ocean in the sea, what happened?" She said, "Ask the Shaykh."
Now he understood he had made a big mistake. Why should she tell him "ask the Shaykh"? It means she saw something coming from that wali. "Ask the wali, ask the Shaykh!" He came to the wali and said, "Ya sayyidee!" Now he is saying "Ya sayyidee!" Before he was denying. He said, "I am still angry because I lost the money, but I am happy to see my wife."
Don't underestimate the power of awliyaullah. Don't say, "Why we are not seeing these miracles anymore?"
This is the century of ignorance. That is what the Prophet (s) said that, "when ignorance is over all the earth then Allah will send one of my grandchildren to bring out the knowledge." There are awliyaullah but their tongues are frozen. They cannot say. If they say it is scrambled. Allah changes their tongues. If they want to say, "I saw Sayyidina Mahdi and he is here in this room and he is ordering his deputies to be here and listen to the suhbat." Then that wali's words will become scrambled so that what he is saying is like reciting Qur'an or reciting a hadith. And he says that but the people will hear something completely differently. That is why in the same association the people hear the shaykh differently. They hear in a different code and different wavelength and that is why they hear different.
So that wali said, "O my brother. I learned from my Shaykh and he learned from his Shaykh and he learned from his Shaykh all the way to the Prophet (s) that if anyone wants to travel from one place to another by boat or camel, that there are a lot of beings on these streets. They might be heavenly they might be earthly. There are a lot of animals, might be domestic and might be wild. And there are many … might be tyrants. If you recite 'Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem dhaalika taqdeer al-`azeezu 'l-hakeem' Allah will take care of you, even if the boat is drowning, Allah will send special angels to take you to shore."
That is why Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh said, "When you travel on a boat or plane and recite 'Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem dhaalika taqdeer al-`azeezu 'l-hakeem' and Allah will send angels to protect you. And on that wird there are angels who are responsible for anyone who recites it.
The shaykh said, "I taught that to her to recite and she was reciting that every day and when she fell she saw an angel come and take her from the ocean."
And she said, "sadaqa ash-shaykh - the shaykh spoke the truth," The Shaykh said, "If I was not with you, your wife would be dead now. That is the first help I did for you. The second one, you are coming for hajj and you owe Allah money because you didn't pay your zakaat. So in order for your hajj to be accepted you have to pay the zakaat money. You didn't pay voluntarily so we sent that monkey to take that money and send Allah's right to the ocean and give whatever balance is for you back to you."
"That is the second thing that made your hajj to be accepted."
I brought that story by Mawlana's permission, answering those who wrote that article on Tibb an-Nabawi, Prophetic Medicine. These people are blind from being saints. `Ulama al-ummah they were before scholars and awliyaullah at same time, Allah gave them secrets. Today they are doctor, doctor, doctor. That is arrogance! Take that doctorship and throw it. Why do you want to put in front of your name dal, "doctor"? Why do you want to say "doctor"? You are telling the people you are a doctor. You are trying to find a way to please the newspaper and because they brought that question to you in order to say the Prophet (s) didn't know. Why? You want to make people not to look at the Prophet (s) high? They want to diminish the status of the Prophet (s). This is Muslims and non-Muslims who read that. If a someone reads that what will he say? "How do you say your Prophet went for Mi'raj and he cannot prescribe a medicine?"
Why to stir the mud? If you are blind don't make the whole Ummah blind.
There are secrets in every Word of Allah and in every one of the Beautiful Names and Attributes and in every word that the Prophet (s) said in his life from the beginning of his life when his mother gave birth to him up to his passing. He was asking for his Ummah. Why, can Sayyidina `Isa talk in his birth and Sayyidina Muhammad (s) cannot talk in his birthday?
About Sayyidina `Isa ,
Fa ashaarat ilayhi qaaloo kayfa nukallimu man kaana fi'l-mahdi sabiyya, Qaala innee `abdullaahi aataaniya al-kitaaba wa ja`alanee nabiyya wa ja`alanee mubarakan ayna ma kuntu wa awsaanee bi's-salati wa'z-zakaati maa dumtu hayya; Wa barran bi-waalidatee wa lam yaj`alnee jabbaaran shaqiyya. Wa's-salaamu `alayya yawma wulidtu wa yawma amootu wa yawma ub`athu hayya.Thereupon she pointed to him. They exclaimed: "How can we talk to one who [as yet] is a little boy in the cradle?" He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet; and [has endowed me with] piety towards my mother; and He has not made me haughty or bereft of grace. "Hence, peace was upon me on the day when I was born, and [will be upon me] on the day of my death, and on the day when I shall be raised to life [again]!" Maryam [19:29-30]
Ataanee al-kitab - He gave me the Kitaab, al-Injeel. He still didn't give to him nubuwwah, still he was a baby in the cradle. First he said, "I am `Abdullah." He didn't say, "I am a Nabi." He said, "I am a servant." You cannot be a prophet before you become a servant. When you reach that level. All of us by tongue we say we are `abd but we didn't reach the level of servanthood. He said, "I am a servant of Allah and He gave me the Book," before he received the book. You have to have a book before you become a prophet – "Wa ja`alanee nabiyya - Then He made me a prophet. Then He made me blessed wherever I am and He commanded me to pray and commanded me to give charity as long as I am alive."Why the Prophet (s) who went for Mi'raj? Sayyidina `Isa is in the first heaven, he was raised waiting permission to come. Sayyidina Muhammad (s) went to:
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى
Fa kaana qaaba qawwsayin aaw adna – two bow's length or nearer. An-Najm [53:9]
Sayyidina `Isa was curing the sick and he was raising the dead. If Sayyidina Muhammad (s) said eat "this cloth and you will be cured" - you will be cured. Not listening to these stupid people and what they are saying - with all my respect to what they study.
Look today: every true Muslim is carrying the shoes of the Prophet (s) to show it is honor for us to put the shoes of the Prophet (s) on our head. They ask, their followers to be dust on the shoes of the Prophet (s). And if you go into what scholars have said about the Prophet (s), you know that he owned one pair of shoes and four khuffs. If you look explanation of scholars for his shoes, if his shoes have baraka, the is not what he says about medicine full of baraka?!! I am not saying not to go to the doctor, no. Go to the doctor, but don't come against the Prophet (s) with such articles. That is why in every wird or adab you mention there is a secret. Awliyaullah give you to recite as they want to raise you up through recitation to take you to the Maqam al-Fardani - the unique station. That is not simple and it is not easy. Awliyaullah are not playing with us.
He said whoever likes to go to Paradise it is simple - follow the five obligations: Shahadatu an la ilaha illa-Allah anna Muhammad Rasulullah, wa iqamus-salaat wa ita'uz-zakaat, wa sawmu Ramadan wa hajju'l-bayt. But if you want to be with the Prophet (s) in...
فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ maq`adi sidqin `inda maleekin muqtadir - In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent. Al-Qamar [54:55]
Then you have other procedures to follow. You have to follow the other procedures.
So Grandshaykh said, "you do your obligations - that is ok. But that doesn't mean you are not a wild animal."
Because the human being is a "talking animal - haywaanin naatiq." You cannot say "why he is calling us a talking animal?" You are an animal, but you can be wild or you can be domestic. He said, "awliyaullah they look at these doctors," now I am adding this on.. Awliyaullah say they look at these people who only do five obligations without doing the Maqam al-Ihsan, whom they are not trying to perfect their behavior and they are looking only from a very narrow perspective, of doing the minimum, only the obligations, but not looking at azeema (highest level of spiritual practice) but only following rukhsa (the easiest allowed practice).Grandshaykh said, "They are like wild animals that have been release in a jungle. They go everywhere because they are wild."
And he said, "Those who are awliyaullah and the students who are following a wali, their description is like a mountain and what you find on the mountain. You find on the mountain wild animals."
All these doctors, doctors, doctors that think they are the peacock of the Ummah are stepping on the mountain thinking they can crush it. But who can harm a mountain? If a million people will step on a mountain they will not affect it. Awliyaullah are mountains. And their followers are rocks on these mountains. And it is very difficult to remove these rocks. These people can mingle among the mureeds but they cannot distract their levels. Always they are going higher and higher, awliyaullah.
He said "la tabadal wa la tughayyir - No change and not alteration to mountains, like oceans." Look he is quiet. They are like oceans. Even you throw all, look Chicago here, where all the sewers go? To Lake Michigan. And lake is sweet and it is a lake. It becomes dirty? No. What you think then about the ocean? It never gets dirty and even all sewers of whole world will go in it is still clean you can clean with it and take shower with it.
Awliyaullah are like oceans they eat the sins of human beings and their waste. They clean them and send them back clean. They can pray and reach the presence of the Prophet (s).
He said, "you are connected with an ocean; you are connected with a sultan that connects you with Sultan as-sultan Sayyidina Muhammad (s)."
May Allah keep us always with the Prophet (s) and we will continue this later insha-Allah Wa min Allah at-tawfeeq bi-hurmati 'l-Fatiha .
Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah Allah kareem Allah
