Hazrat Sayyidah Fatimah az-Zahra (RadiaAllahuanha)

Excerpts from Rauza-tus-Safaa, edited revised by El-Sheikh Sayyid Mubarak Ali Shah Jilani al-Hashimi al-Hasani wal-Husaini
http://angelichealing.net/fatimah.html

The princess of women, Sayyidatina Fatimah Zahra (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) was, according to the statements of all the chief 'Ulema, the most beloved of the children of the Holy Prophet of latter times (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam), and was by her superior nobility of mind and excellent qualities distinguished above all her brothers and sisters. It is recorded in the Kasheful-Ghummah that Ibn Khisab has, in his chronicle of the births and deaths of the members of the family of the prince of existences, stated, with the proper authorities taken from Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin 'Ali al-Baqir, etc.- that the birth of Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) took place five years after the announcement of prophecy and the descent of revelation, and that she departed from this world at the age of eighteen years and seventy-five days; but according to another tradition, ended was her noble life at the age of eighteen years, one month, and fifteen days. She lived with her father in Makkah for eight years, and she went to Madinah with the Rasul of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) and dwelt with him there ten years, and she was then eighteen years old.

She lived with the Commander of the Faithful, Hazrat Ali bin Abi Taleb (Karram Allah Wajhah) seventy five days after the death of her blessed father (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam), but according to another tradition, forty days. In the Tanfyh of Ibn Jawzy it is stated that the birth of Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) took place five years before the Mission, and in the Rawdzat al-Ahbab two traditions are recorded on this subject, the first whereof agrees with that of the Tanfyh, but the second is to the effect that this luminary sphere of prophecy arose from the horizon of nativity in the forty-first year after the catastrophe of the elephant. In the just-mentioned work it is also narrated that the decease of Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) took place during the night of Tuesday, the third day of the month of Ramadhan, which happened six, and according to others three, months after the death of the Holy Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam). On account of the two traditions of Sayyidah Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) that noble lady must have reached the age of twenty-eight or of twenty-two years; but the true knowledge is with Allah.

In the Kashaful-Ghummah it is recorded, according to the precedent of those who walk in the paths of the A'immah, that the prince of the righteous (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) had said: "During the night of my ascension, I ate one fresh date of the fruits of the trees of eternity, which was softer than butter and sweeter than honey, and the essence of that date generated seed within my loins. When I [again] alighted on earth I approached Khadijah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) and she became pregnant with Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha)." The seal of Ambiya (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) also said: "'O Khadijah, the faithful spirit of Allah has apprised me that this child will be a daughter. Call her Fatimah, because it is a pure and blessed name.'"
When the time of the delivery of Sayyida Khadijah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) was near at hand, she sent for several of her relatives to aid her on that occasion; but as she incurred their displeasure by marrying the Holy Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam), they would not comply with her request, so that she was much distressed. Nevertheless, four women, resembling those of the tribe of Bani Hashem, suddenly made their appearance, and Khadijah was afraid of them. One of them, however said: "Fear not, for Allah the Most High has sent us to you. We are your visitors. I am Sarah; this is Maryam, the daughter of Imran; the third is Kalthum, the sister of Musa; and the fourth is Asiah, the wife of Pharaoh. They will be your companions in Paradise" Then one of these women sat down on the right and another on the left of Sayyidah Khadijah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha), the third in her front, and the fourth in her rear until Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) was born. When this took place a light shone from that infant of laudable end, which encircled the houses of Makkah from the east and west, so that there was no spot in any house which was not illuminated by that light:

Distich: The light of prosperity shone, Making my heart to gladness prone. In the above-named work, it is also recorded that the Lord and Bestower of all gifts sent ten Huris from the uppermost paradise into the apartment of the pure Khadijah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha), each of whom brought a basin and a pitcher full of water from the Kawthar. Then the woman sitting in front of Sayyidah Khadijah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) took hold of Fatimah and washed her with that water from paradise, and afterwards she brought forth white and extremely fragrant swaddling clothes in which she wrapped the infant; then she drew a similar cloth over the child's head by the way of a coif, and said: "Take her, Khadijah. Give way to no apprehensions, for blessing is in her and in her progeny." Then the other women congratulated Sayyidah Khadijah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) and departed, whilst she embraced Fatimah with great joy and happiness. When the lord of prophecy (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) entered, he took the darling child into his arms, called her Fatimah, and surnamed her Umm Muhammad, but her sobriquets are numerous, such as, the blessed, the pure, the innocent, the pleasing, the pleased, the orthodox, the Vestal, and Zahra (flower).

It is related by the El-Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (Radhi Allahu 'Anhu) that his holy and prophetic lordship (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) asked Sayyidah Fatimah one day whether she knew why she was called by that name, and Sayyidina Ali Amir ul-Mu'mineen (Karram Allah Wajhah) having thereon also asked for the reason, his lordship replied: "Because she delivered her soul from fire." It is related that Hayder Karar (one of the names of Sayyidina Ali, Radhi Allahu 'Anhu) said: "Verily the Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) was asked what Betul meant, and he replied: 'It is a woman who never sees redness; namely, she never menstruates, because menstruation is hateful in the daughters of the Prophets.'" It is related that El-Imam Muhammad al- Baqir (Radhi Allahu Anhu) having been asked why the princess of women was surnamed Zahra, he replied: "Because Allah had magnified her, and when she arose she illuminated the heavens and the earth with her light, and the eyes of the angels were dazzled, so that they prostrated themselves, worshipping Allah Ta'ala, and saying: 'O our God and Lord, what is this light?' Whereon Allah vouchsafed to the the following revelation: 'This is a light of My Light: I cause it to dwell in My Heaven: I created it from My Greatness; I produced it from my forehead, and from a Nabi more excellent than all the other Ambiya. From that light I shall produce A'immah who will promulgate My Commands, and propagate My Truth, and I shall cause them to be Khalifahs on My earth;' and here the revelation ceased"

As has been narrated above, the lord of dominion [i.e., Hazrat Ali, Radhi Allahu Anhu] married in the second year of Hijra [A.D. 623] the princess of women, who was on that occasion, according to the tradition of the Imams of the family [of Muhammad, Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam], nine, but according to another statement fourteen, years old. Some even assert that she was twenty years of age.

It is related in the Sohah-Akhbar that when Sayyida Aisha (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) was asked what person that Prophet of Jinn and Men loved most, she replied: "Fatimah." They said: "Of men?" She (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) replied: "Her husband." It is likewise related of Siddiqah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) that she said: "I never saw any person resembling Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) more than Fatimah in her countenance, in elegance of speech, in dignity, and in all her motions. Whenever Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) paid a visit to the best of men (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) he rose, kissed her, and made her sit down in his own place. Whenever his lordship the refuge of prophecy (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) came to her house, Sayyidatina Fatimah acted in the same manner. It is also an authentic fact that the Holy Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) said: "Fatimah is a part of me; whoever injures her injures me, and whoever angers her angers me."

According to some traditions, he also said: "Allah gets angry when Fatimah gets angry."
It is related of Thauban, the freed man of the prophet of the last times, that he said: "When the best of men started on a journey, the last person of whom he took leave was Fatimah az-Zahra, and when he returned the first person whom he met was Betul."

It is related in many respectable historical works that when Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) was struck by the calamity of losing her father, the best of men, she wept and lamented so much from morning till evening that she distressed the inhabitants of Madinah, who sent her the following message: "O daughter of the Nabi of Allah, if you weep during the day, take rest in the night, that way we may also have peace; and if you weep in the night, be silent during the day, and we shall likewise obtain repose."

It is related of the Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) that he said: "There are five weepers in the world: Firstly Adam (Alayhis-Salaam), who cried so much after his expulsion from Paradise that two rivers [of tears] were flowing on his face. Secondly, Ya'qub (Alayhis-Salaam), who wept so much on account of his separation from Yusuf (Alayhis-Salaam) that he became blind. Thirdly, Yusuf (Alayhis- Salaam) who deplored in prison his separation from Ya'qub to such a degree that all the captives were distressed. Fourthly, Fatimah (alayhas-Sallam) who wept so much after the death of the Holy Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) that the inhabitants of Madinah sent her the following message: "O darling of the lord of existences, you have indeed distressed us by your fervent lamentations." Then Betul Zahra (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) betook herself at least to the cemetery of the martyrs, and wept there. Fifthly, the fourth Emam, who was constantly shedding tears on account of the calamity of Karbala, so that his attendants could never place any food before him without its being moistened by the water of his eyes." It is related of Muhammad al-Baqir the Imam of exalted memory that he said: "After the decease of his holy and prophetic lordship, no one ever saw Fatimah laugh till her very dying day." It is related that Zahra (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) called in her last malady for Solmy the freed woman of the lord Mustafa, and said: "Bring me some water for ablution."

Solmy narrates: "After she had washed herself so beautifully as I had never seen anyone doing it so well, she asked for clean garments and donned them. Then she ordered me to spread out her couch, whereon she reclined, turned with her right side to the Qiblah, and, placing her right hand beneath her face, she said: "Solmy, I shall at this moment depart from the abode of perishableness to the mansions of eternity, and I have washed myself that no one may undress me." When she had uttered these words, her spirit took flight to the upper regions." Shortly afterwards, Sayyidina Ali Commander of the Faithful (Karram Allah Wajhah) entered, and, witnessing the scene, poured forth tears from the clouds of his eyes. This event is, according to the Rauzatul- Ahbab, described in the same manner by Muhammad bin Sa'd and the amanuensis in his Tabaqat; but if it be true, it must be considered as one of the peculiarities of Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha), because it is against the commandments of the doctors of the Law [to omit the ablution of a corpse]. NOTE: The reader should know that Hazrat Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) was not like ordinary Muslim ladies.

In the Kashaful-Ghummah, it is related that Betul Zahra (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) when she was near her death, called Asma the daughter of Omys, and said: "Asma, one day Jibreel (Alayhis-Salaam) paid a visit to my father when he was sick, and brought him some camphor of paradise for Hanutt. My father divided it into three parts. Keeping one for himself and giving the other two to me, he said: 'Preserve the one share for yourself, and the other for Ali Murtaza.' Asma, that camphor, which weighs forty mithqals, I have laid by in a certain place. The twenty mithqals which belong to me you are to put near my head; but give the other twenty to the lord Ali Murtaza." When Asma had done this, Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) said: "Go out and leave me alone. Call out my name after a short time; if I answer, it is all well and good; but if I remain silent, be aware that I have departed to my noble father." Asma obeyed, and shortly afterwards, called out: "O daughter of Muhammad the Elect!" but received no answer. She therefore again entered the apartment, and removing the veil from the countenance of the princess of women, she perceived that her soul had departed from the abode of grief to the palace of joy. Then she prostrated herself, approached, and kissed her, saying: "O Betul, when you arrive in the paradise of your father, convey him my greeting and petition." On that occasion the lord and Imam Hasan entered with the Imam Husayn (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) and asked: "Asma, is our mother asleep?" Asma replied: "Your mother is not asleep, but has departed to the proximity of the Mercy of the Lord of lords." Hereon both commenced to week and to lament, and proceeded to the Masjid of the Holy Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) for the purpose of informing Sayyidina Ali Murtaza (Karram Allah Wajhah) of the event. When they had reached the proximity of that blessed locality their voices of lamentation became very loud, so that some of the Holy Companions (Radhi Allahu Anhum) who were sitting there with Sayyidina Ali (Karram Allah Wajhah) exclaimed: "What makes you cry, O [grand] sons of the Nabi of Allah? Allah forfend that you should weep!" Then they related what had taken place, and the Lion of Attack (Karram Allah Wajhah) was so overpowered by grief that he fell prostrate on his face and uttered the following words: "O daughter of the Nabi of Allah, after his lordship's death, you were my consolation; but who will calm the pain of endless separation and of infinite exile when you are no more?" Then he pronounced the following distichs:

Each meeting of two friends has an end Every grief is slight, except separation; If I have lost Fatimah after Ahmad, It is a sign that no friend remains. Then the king and refuge of wilayat [i.e., Ali] hastened to the apartment of Taherah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha), and ordered Asma to wash and shroud the princess of the women of both worlds, and interred her body to the Baqyi cemetery. The author of Kashaful-Ghummah says: "Ibn Babutah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anhu) reports the matter as follows, and I consider him to be correct: She was buried in her own house, but when the [graves of the] Bani Umayya increased in the mosque her body was [likewise] interred in the same, and in what I have reported I have only stated what is know and generally believed by the people, by historians and biographers, that, as stated above, she had been interred in al-Baqi cemetery."

It is related in the Rauza-tul-Ahbab that according to one tradition Hazrat Ali Murtaza (Karram Allah Wajhah), and according to another Sayyidina Abbas (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anhu), prayed over the corpse of Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha). The next day, the two Sheikhs (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhuma) and all the companions of the best of men, reproached Hayder [The Lion, i.e., Ali] the Commander of the Faithful, saying: "Why have you not informed us, that, by being present at the honor of the prayers over Fatimah, we might ourselves have been honored?" But the king of the dominion answered: "I have acted thus by her own injunction."

In the Rauzat-ush-Shahda [Mausoleum of Martyrs] it is recorded that according to the tradition of the Ahlul-Bayt [members of the family] the death of Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha), the daughter of the prince of existences, took place on Tuesday, the third day of the blessed month of Ramadhan, in the eleventh year of the Hijra [A.D. 632], and that she was buried in the Rauzat-Maqadasat [sacred mausoleum].

The author of the present work states that some who wrote down the traditions concerning the members of the family assert that Zahra (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) died seventy-five days after the prince of mortals; others, however, say forty days. The Kashaful-Ghumma has a tradition from the Dhariat-Taharat, the author of which is Dullaby, that al-Zahra (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) lived three months after the decease of the Mustafa (Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam) and the number of days given by the Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir is ninety-five. None of the traditions, however, imply that this great calamity had taken place on the third day of the blessed month Ramadhan, because in reality the death of the daughter of the prince of existences took place at the end of Safar, or in the beginning of Rabi anterior in the same year; the [true] knowledge, however, is with Allah, who is to be adored.

In the Tanfyh of Ibn Jawzy, it is recorded that Sayyidatina Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) had four children, children, namely, the Imams Hasan and Husayn, Zaynab, and Umm Kulthum. Zaynab was married to Abdullah bin Ja'far Tayyar (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) and gave birth to two sons, Ubaydullah and Awun. Faruq the greater [i.e., the Khalif Umar] (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anhu) espoused Umm Kulthum during his own reign, and begat with her a son, Zayd by name. After the demise of Umar the Commander of the Faithful (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anhu) Awun bin Ja'far married her, and after he had also died Muhammad bin Ja'far married her, and had a daughter by her. When Muhammad had likewise departed to the eternal world, Abdullah bin Ja'far married Umm Kulthum and she died in his house.

According to a tradition of Muhammad Ibn-e Ishaq and Lyth bin Sa'd, Fatimah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anha) had two other children, namely Hasan and Raqayah, both of whom died in infancy. It is recorded in the Rauza-tul-Ahbab that neither Zaynab nor Umm Kulthum left any offspring at all, and therefore the descendants of the seal of the Prophets are all the progeny of the Imams Hasan and Husayn (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala 'Anhuma), as well as to all the pure A'immah our guides, the Khalifahs and directors; abundant and consecutive salutations to them to the day of resurrection.

"Bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem". Some scholars say that this phrase is a verse (ayah) that was revealed by itself. Other scholars say that it is a part of the Fatiha. For this reason some schools of thought connect Bismillah ir- rahman ir-raheem with the Fatiha when they pray. Others do not connect it but instead recite it separately. They do not consider it part of the Fatiha.

Shaykh Isma`il al-Haqqi says:

"Kullu `uloom bil kutub al arba`a wa `uloomuha fil Qur'an." - "It is said that all the knowledge that Allah gave to humanity in this universe is found in the four holy books: az-Zabur (Psalms), the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel or New Testament), and the Holy Qur'an".

"Wa `uloomul Qur'an bil Fatiha.

Wa `uloom ul-Fatiha bil-basmala.

Qad `awda Allah jam`iyyal 'uloomi fil Ba bi Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem." -"and the complete knowledge of the Holy Qur'an is contained in the Faatiha.

And all the knowledge in Fatiha is contained within the Basmala (Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem).

And all the knowledge in the Basmala is contained in the letter 'ba' (harful ba).

The wisdom of the other three holy books is in the Holy Qur'an, the Essence of which is in the Fatiha whose meaning is contained in the Basmala."

BA- And the Bahr Qudra- Spinning Universes Oceans of Power

It is said that all the knowledge that Allah (swt) revealed was placed in the 'ba', the first letter of Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem.

Allah said, "Bee kaana wa yakoon" - "In Me, i.e. through My Power, all came to be and all is continuing in existence."

Bi is formed from two letters 'Ba' {2}and 'Ya'.{10}{ = 12 or Completion reflection is 21 in Akhira }

And He said, "Bee kaana ma kaan wa bee yakoon ma yakoon."

The letter 'Ba' is like a ship with the dot, 'nukta', under it.

'Ya' refers to Allah (swt). With Me ("Bee") what will be, will be –whatever happens, happens, and what was, was. { Come back to the Bahr Qudra}

That is a small understanding of the saying that all knowledge is contained within the 'Ba'. That is why the first letter of the Holy Qur`an is the 'Ba'.

Shaykh al-Haqqi says, "The existence of all the universes and all within them is in the 'Ba'." This is because the 'Ba' is with Allah (swt)." It is He who brought that letter. With that 'Ba' He created all the universes. Someone said, "Maa nadharru shayan illa wa r`aytullaha feeh" - "I never look at something without seeing a sign of Allah (swt) there."

Ar-Rahman ar-Raheem
Shaykh al-Haqqi says, "Wa `allam anna ar-Rahmata min siffat idh-dhaat wa huwa iraadatuhu isaal ul-khair wa daff`u sharr" - "Let it be known that ar- Rahmah, Mercy, is from the Attributes of the Essence.

Allah (swt) desires that goodness (khair) reaches His servants, and that the evil (sharr) be kept away from them." That is why He swt said if the believer wants evil to be kept away from him, he should recite, "A`udhu billahi min ash-Shaytan ir-rajeem." When he says "A`udhu billahi min ash-Shaytan ir-rajeem", he is expelling Shaytan from his heart and approaching Allah (swt).

He continues this by saying Bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem.

Every deed ( 'amal) that the believer wishes to perform should be begun by saying, "A`udhu billahi min ash-Shaytan ir-rajeem". It is a request from his Lord for refuge, istighaatha (seeking a means) and madad (support).

He is seeking refuge in Allah (swt) from Shaytan ir-Rajeem. Allah (swt) removes Shaytan ar-Rajeem by opening for the believer "Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem.

The reality of the knowledge contained within the 'Ba' will be opened. When doing anyth"ing, great or seemingly insignificant the believer should start with this phrase.

For example when about to take a drink of water, the believer should say, "A`udhu billahi min ash-Shaytan ir-rajeem, Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir- raheem". After this Shaytan is unable to remove baraka from his water.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Nuaym that Wahb ibn Kaysan said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was brought food while his stepson Umar ibn Salama was with him. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to him, 'Say "Bismillah," and eat what is in front of you.'

Grandshaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani says:

"Without preceding an action by 'Bismillah ir-Rahmaan ir-Raheem' no good can come of it. Therefore Shaytan attempts to interfere with the believer's reciting it seventy times in order to spoil it. For to forget 'Bismillah ir- Rahmaan ir-Raheem' is to forget Allah, and without Allah's remembrance no action has a foundation or a support."

The greatest sign of Allah's (swt) Mercy (rahmah) is the creation of the universes and humanity - khalqil makhlooqaat.

~ From His Mercy, which is connected to His Essence, is the attribute ar-Raheem and the creation of al-khalq (all of creation, among which are human beings).

If Allah (swt) was not Raheem, then mankind would have been unknown.

When He creates something, it becomes known. He wants creation to know about Him. He said, "I created the creation so that they might know Me."

If mankind had not been created he would not know Allah (swt). From His Essential attribute of Mercy (siffatur Rahmah adh-Dhaatiyyah) the description of His Mercy is the creation of human beings. By creating him, He made mankind reach what is known. Without creating mankind, He would have stayed as unknown.

~ From His Rahmah He created mankind. { ALR-HM-N}
The Prophet (s) said, `Inna lillahi `edur Rahma. 'ata Wahidatan minha li `ahl id-dunya wad dakhala tis'an wa tis'eena `ilal `aakhira yarhamu bi naa'imat "Allah (swt) has 100 Mercies. He gave one mercy to all creations in dunya and left ninety-nine mercies for the hereafter in order to forgive His servants."
All life exists by means this single mercy. There is so much happiness present in dunya from only a single mercy that one can only imagine what the remaining ninety-nine left for `aakhira and the Judgment Day are like.

The entire nation of Muhammad (s) (`ummatun Naby (s) jami'an) will be protected by these ninety-nine mercies. As long as people say, "La `ilaha `illallah, Muhammadan Rasool Allah" and establish prayer, give poor-due, fast Ramadan and make the pilgrimage if they are able they will be in Paradise under those ninety-nine mercies. This blessing is from Allah's attribute of Mercy.

Allah described two types of mercy in "Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem". They are the general one and the private one (ar-Rahmat al-'aama wal- khaasa). The general mercy is for everyone, and the private one is for a select few. In `aakhira Allah (swt) will forgive the people of Islam (`ahlul-Islam) and send them to paradise. He will put them there by saying "Bismillah ir- Rahmaan ar-Raheem".

Shaykh al-Haqqi relates "Qaalu lillahi ta'aala thalaathatul `aalaf ism. Alfun ar-rawaha malaa`ika." - "It is said that Allah (swt) has 3,000 names. One thousand of them He gave the angels to know." They describe the greatness of His Mercy. Within every name there is a Rahmah with which Allah (swt) will bless His servants on Judgment Day. Wa `alf, ar-rafahul `anbiya. One thousand He gave to `anbiya (prophets). Three hundred in each of the Holy books (the Taurat, the Injil and the Zabur) and ninety-nine in the Holy Qur`an.

One name He left for Himself and no one knows this name. He placed all these attributes within three names: Allah, Ar-Rahman, and Ar-Raheem.

That is why Bismillah is followed by ar-Rahmaan ir-raheem.

Shaykh al-Haqqi says, "Faman `aalimaha wa qaalaha fa kaannama dhakarallahu ta'aala bi kulli `asma`I" - "Whoever learned the Basmala and repeated it, it will be as if he had called upon his Lord by all three thousand of His Names." (Anyone who repeats Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem it is as if he has called upon his Lord by His three thousand Names). This is why Muslims should teach it to their children and teach them to repeat this phrase when beginning any action.

It is related that the Prophet (s) said, "The night that I ascended to Paradise, the four rivers of Paradise were beneath me:

one from water;
one from milk;
one from wine and
one from honey.

I asked Jibril (as), 'Ya Jibril (as), from where do these rivers come, and where do they go?'

He said, 'All of them go to your Pond, Nahr ul-Kauthar, but I do not know where they come from. If you want to know, Ya Muhammad (s), ask your Lord, and He will teach you.' I asked, 'Ya Rabbi, from where do they come?' An angel came and greeted the Prophet (s) and said, 'Ya Muhammad (s), close your eyes.' Then he said, 'Open your eyes.'

The Prophet said, "I opened my eyes, and found myself by a tree, with a white dome of pearl, and a door of red gold.

I saw all of universes that Allah has created, with the jinn, animals and human beings and that dome was able to carry them all, and it was able to carry still more.

The dome was made from a single pearl. A normal pearl is so small that it must come from a big ocean. Allah (swt) showed me that all these universes that were put on that dome were like birds sitting on a mountain. I saw the four rivers coming from under that dome.

"When I began to return , the angel said to me, 'Why don't you go inside?' I replied, 'How can I go inside when the door is locked and I don't have the key for it?' The angel said, 'Ya Muhammad (s), the key to that lock is <<Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem>>, so say it.'

So I approached, and I said, 'Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem', and the lock opened.

I entered and saw four rivers coming from the four sides of the dome.

Written on the top of each side of the dome was 'Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem'.

The river of water was flowing from the letter 'mim' of Bismillah.

The River of Milk was flowing from the 'Ha' of Allah (swt)."

"I saw the River of Wine coming from the 'Mim' of the word ar-Rahman.

I saw the River of Honey, coming from the 'Mim' of the word ar-Raheem. [Together is Mhmm Muhamma ]

I knew then that the source of these four rivers is the Basmala from Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem. Allah said, 'Ya Muhammad (s), if your ummah comes to Me and asks Me with a a pure heart, without arrogance, and they begin with Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem I will allow them to quench their thirst from these four rivers.'"

The milk mentioned here symbolizes innocence as the letter 'Ha' denotes Hu and refers to the absolute unseen, the absolute innocence that no one knows [except the Prophet].

That is why the Prophet (s) said, "Human beings are born innocent." Like a child submitting to his father. If one surrenders to Allah (swt) like a child surrenders to his parents, Allah will grant him everything.

The wine here represents...Sustenance Food ,Water The air we breath. The honey represents... Shifa and Shafa Healing and Intercession for day of accounting

The water represents.... Life

A hadith relates that a du'a will never be rejected by Allah (swt) when it begins "Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem".[10]

Wa fil hadeethy 'aydan 'an an Naby (s), Man rafa'a firtaasa minal ardi maktooban 'alayhi Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem `ijlaalan lahu wa ismihi 'an anludanna `askaya 'indallah minas Siddeeqeen, wa khaffafa 'an waalidayhi wa `in kaana mushrikeen. "If anyone sees a paper on the floor with Bismillah ir- rahmaan ir-raheem written on it, and takes it and puts it in a safe place, and shows respect for the Name of Allah (swt) he will be raised to the level of Siddiqeen (trustworthy) and even if his parents were polytheists (mushrikeen), their punishment will be reduced because of that."[11]

It was also said by the great scholar Shaykh Ahmad Boony in Nataa`ib `Ishaar that `inna shajaratun wujooda qara`at 'an Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir- raheem. Wa `innal 'aalama kullahu qaa`imun biha"- "The tree of existence for everything came from 'Bismillah ir-Rahmaan ir-Raheem.' And indeed all the universes exist (or continue in existence) by means of 'Bismillah ir-Rahmaan ir- Raheem'."

[1] Ibn Juzayy says:

According to Malik, the Basmala is not an ayah of the Fatiha nor of anything else except for specifically in an-Naml (the Ant). According to ash-Shafi`i it is an ayah of the Fatiha, and according to Ibn `Abbas it is an ayah of the beginning of every sura. Malik's argument is that which is narrated in the sound hadith that the Messenger of Allah, (s), said, "There has been revealed to me a surah the like of which is not in the Tauraat, the Injeel, or the Qur'an." Then he said, "Praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds..." [1: 1] and he began without the Basmala.

There is also that which is mentioned in the sound hadith:
"Allah says, 'I have divided the salaat between Me and My slave in two halves. The slave says: Praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds...'" and He began without the Basmala. [And Qatada wrote that Anas b. Malik had narrated to him: I observed prayer behind the Apostle of Allah (s) and Abu Bakr (r) and Umar (r) and 'Uthman (r). They started (loud recitation) with: Alhamdulillahi Rabb il-`alameen [All Praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds] and did not recite Bismillah r- Rahman-ir-Raheem (loudly) at the beginning of the recitation or at the end of it. Sahih Muslim, Book 4, #788.]

Ash-Shafi`i's argument is that which is narrated in the hadith that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to recite "In the name of Allah the Merciful the Compassionate, All praise belongs to Allah Lord of the worlds."

The argument of Ibn `Abbas is that the Basmala is written with every sura in the mushaf.

[7] The unbelievers of the Quraysh identified the Basmala with rejection of their idols and refused use of this phrase. It is related on the authority of Anas (r) regarding the Treaty of Hudaybiyya: ... The Prophet (s) said to 'Ali (r): Write" In the name of Allah, most Gracious and most Merciful."
Suhail [representing Quraysh] said: As for" Bismillah," we do not know what is meant by" Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem". But write what we understand, "B'ismik'allahumma - in thy name. O Allah".... [Sahih Muslim, Book 19, #4404]

Defenders of Truth should be happy in this new year!

Sohbet from 02.01.2008

Welcome! Welcome to you!
Audhu bi-llahi mina shaytani rajim
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
La haula wa la quwatta illa bi-llahi-l 'Aliyu-l 'Azim!

We are asking forgiveness from Allah Almighty, because wholly dunya they are on wrong way! Wrong way it is Shaytans way and Shaytan - Allah Almighty (was) warning Adam, when he was in Paradise... first warning to Sayyidina Adam...

Destur, ya Sayydi, ya Sultanu-l Awliya...

He was (the) first man, Sayyidina Adam, in Paradise, our first father and Hawa, Eve, alayhima salam, everything Allah Almighty (was) granting to them without asking from them anything for payment. Free! He created (us) - that is our Lords biggest blessing, biggest ikram, grant, from Allah - we were not in existence, He created us, and (the) first man and first woman for themselves (He) prepared paradise, Subhanallah, granting them from His Divinely Grants, ikram, and never asking anything for payment. Free! And He was, Allah Almighty, saying to Adam and Eve: "This Jannatu l-Adn, Eden, (is) for you! You are free. Eat from (its) fruits, drink from (its) rivers, enjoy yourself.

And you are here. Only I am, as your Lord, the Creator, I am asking from you to hear and listen to Me and obey. Whole Paradise (is) for you, enjoy yourself as you like. Only there is one tree, that is, I am putting on it that ban, (it is a) banned tree; as I am Lord and Creator, I am ordering to you: You must not approach that tree and you must not taste from its fruits! I am not asking anything from you, enjoy!"

And same time Allah Almighty (was) warning them: "O Adam, when I created you and (was) giving to you from My Holy Spirit and dressing you a honourable dress that I never dressed that dress on any other creature, dressed you and putting on your head the crown of being My khalif, and I am ordering - you are shining with My Divinely Lights -and saying to angels: 'Bow to Adam, make sajdah to him' you are remembering that whole angels (were) bowing to him except one..." – O our Lord! - "You know that one is your most dangerous and terrible enemy, beware from that one! I am making every protection for you, but that enemy (is a) so dangerous enemy, asking to reach to you and to make you to fall in a dark area! To be taken from you lights, Heavenly Lights, to be taken from you the crown of being My deputy, and glorious honourable clothes (that) I am putting on you! His aim (is) to take this from you and (to) make you as himself! Beware!"

(This was the) first Warning from Allah Almighty to Adam and Eve.

To Adam, (He was) addressing to Adam, not addressing to Eve, no, because Adam, because man is powerful, women weak. Therefore you must, everyone must take their lessons from (Allah Almighty's) first warning. It was, Allah Almighty was addressing to Adam, not to Eve! And that (was the) first warning from Allah Almighty...

And then happened... so many things happened and Sayyidina Adam -alayhi salam -, because (he was) hearing Shaytan - not directly, (but) through Eve! This is a big lesson today (that) we are sending through East and West, how they are falling now in such a terrible position now, what is the reason, what was the seed of this troubles: Shaytan reached to Adam not directly, (but) through his wife, our first mum...

"How? We may taste...! " Adam - alayhi salam -..."Oh! How? We may taste! You can do...!" Coming from this side: "O Adam! O my darling?! How should be, what is going to happen? We must try, o my darling!"... Coming from this side: "O my darling, only a taste...!"

Tauba, Astaghfirullah! Adam - alayhi salat wa salam - (was) 60 Yards (tall), not like you, like this... "I am seeing you, you are not so much happy, but I am... leave me, only one bite! If anything happening, then you don't eat, don't do! If not, we are..." Bite - eating... La haula wa la quwatta illa bi-llahi-l 'Aliyu-l 'Azim... A little bit, one (bite), Eve making like this... and giving to Adam...

"Wa asa Adamu Rabbahu faghawa..." Astaghfirullah! Allah (said): "Ya Adam, what you did! (You are) not obeying My Order, (you are) putting My Order under your feet! And now you can't be here! You, and all of you, quickly get out! "

This honourable dressing (was) falling down, they are naked... Running like this, running like that to cover themselves- no any tree of paradise (was) giving to them (anything from their leaves to cover themselves), only (the) fig (was) clothing (them)..."Out quickly! O Angels, land them on earth!" And light, through paradise (they were) through lights, Heavenly Lights, ohhhh... !

"Land them, all of them!" Adam one place and Eve another place landed. "Shaytan also! Land Shaytan down, not to go around Paradise!" And who (was) making way (for Shaytan) to get in was (an) angel, the guardian of paradise and (Allah Almighty was) ordering that to be a snake, (a) dragon. "All of them, throw all of them on earth to be for each other enemies!" All of them (were kicked out)...(then it was) closed (the) door...

And (the) first warning it costed - you can't be able to say a price (for) what Adam and Eve they lost! Subhanallah, Glory to Allah! Glory to Allah, He is Allah, we are servants! First lesson that Allah Almighty (was) giving to Adam and Eve: "You and our wife (are) My servants, I am your Lord, you must listen and obey to Me! I am the
Lord of Heavens! No one may say (anthing) and his saying (is) getting over My Will and Order. I don't like it! Go down!"

Allahu akbar! Astaghfirullah! Astaghfirullah, ya Rabbi!

Then Adam and Eve, when they are coming together, they take their lessons, taking 'graduated', Adam and Eve, and they were saying for their children: "O our children, beware (of) Shaytan! We were in paradise, but we are not obeying the warning of our Lord and then, as a punishment, we have been thrown out ..."

And Allah Almighty (was) addressing to Adam and Eve: "O Adam, I am sending you two out of paradise, but your mourning..." He (Adam) was standing on one foot (for) 300 years, crying, on Ceylon, Sri Lanka, Serendip, on that area, he was standing up and asking forgiveness from Allah Almighty, 300 years crying, crying... and Allah Almighty just created that precious stones from his eye drops...

Then Almighty (was) accepting their repenting, tawba, and giving His Blessing to them and saying: "O Adam, I am not throwing you from Paradise forever, no, but I am sending to you and to your sons up to Last Day that (is) coming, My warning, through some of your sons that I am going to dress them (the) Heavenly Dressing (of) being My Prophets and deputies. My warning should continue (up on)to (the) Last Day, so that (those) whom they are hearing My warning and obeying, they should find (their) way (back) to My paradise. You should come there! If they are not taking care - where I am sending Shaytan, I am sending them also there!" That is what happened from (Allahs) warning, (the) first warning from Allah Almighty. Up today (there are) coming some people (whom) they are warning (of) Shaytan.

Now even religious people, whom they are dressing religious clothes, they can't be able to say to people: "People, beware from Shaytan!" Because Shaytan (is) now everywhere on power. If (they are) making voting, 100 % Shaytan (is the) winner, on power! Now on earth on power: (is the) shaytanic power, nothing else! If you are speaking anything, uhhh!.... (you are) finished, (they are) taking you away!

Only who had been dressed (by a) Heavenly protection, never mind for them! But other people, they should be taken away. Now on power: (The) party of devils! On power everywhere! If you are saying this, they should be very angry... I am saying: "You are not giving to me money, no, I am free to say (this)!"

(The) most important party, most powerful party, 100 % every election getting (victorious), winning: (the) shaytanic party! Everywhere! But they are saying: "No, no, we are not (a) shaytanic party, we are just such a party, such a (party)...!" Uhhh! But everywhere on power (is the) shaytanic party! Graduated by Shaytan! Tu [spitting] on Shaytan and on his party!... True?... If not true, you are going with his party also!... Tawba, Astaghfirullah! Ya Allah! That is!... Which party, N.?... May Allah change (it)!... Understanding my English?...Okay...

Just (Shaytan) delivered a declaration before two days ago that: "I am ordering, O mankind, who (is) living on earth (and) I am your Emperor - that you must be prepared for the New Years Night! I am ordering to you to prepare yourselves for the celebration of 2008!" -"Hah?!" "If anyone (is) getting opposite on my order, they should find themselves in a very bad situation! I am going to cut everything for them that I am granting to you, O mankind!" And therefore (people quickly say): "What is your order, O our Lord?" "Therefore, you must use my urine! That night it is free to make you drunk! All of you must be drunk! I am never accepting anyone on earth - East and West, North to South - not to be drunk! And the secret power of (being) drunk, because I am putting my urine in it!" Eh, American... Tawba, Astaghfirullah...

I was tired, I was lying up(stairs) up to Zuhr, but now I am getting power! Yes Sir! That is our situation and then, if we are going to continue... we may, if they are giving permission - I may speak on that subject, because I am graduated on that subject, first one on earth - continue up to next New Year for them - another urine from Shaytan to them...!

May Allah forgive us! O people, beware (of) Shaytan!

Astaghfirullah! "Rabbana, zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna, la-nakunanna mina l-khasirin"... Aman, ya Rabb! We are weak servants, adrikna, ya Rabbana... Shepherds on flocks, they are wolves... In German? Wölfe... Ya Rabbi, Anta-l Mubaddil, Anta-l Mumakkin... Astaidhu bi-llah: "Wa'da Allahu ladhina amanu minkum wa amilu salihati yastakhlifannakun... wa man kafara ba'ada dhalika, fa ulaika humu l-fasiqun!" That is (a) Holy Verse, Holy Ayat, giving to my heart a fresh power, because that is the Lord of Heavens good tidings! Even now what happening now and people (are) thinking that everything (is) through their hands, through shaytanic powers, but (Allah is saying): " I am promising to believers that once again,
before the Day Of Resurrection, I am giving whole power to people, believers, Muslims!" (That) must come! That is giving to me (power), or I like to die instantly... but I am asking to reach to that days... and all of you to reach that brightened days and Heavenly Power everywhere (is) covering people, giving pleasure for them, giving honour to them! Because Shaytan (is) making man to be under (the) feet, someones under someone's feet and zulm, oppression, covered (the) whole world.
May Allah take it away quickly!

Therefore, I am now just looking our new year (is) coming... on first... today, like today next week, it is going to be (the) first of our new year, Muharram, and before Muharram, the last day of Dhil- Hijja should be Tuesday, (the) first day Wednesday... 1428 (is) finishing, 1429 (is) beginning on Wednesday... and we are hoping (that) something, some power, (is) coming to Islam, to true ones! True ones! And you must try to be defenders of truth! Defenders of truth, Haqqani! Haqqanis should be happy through this year, we hope this, and their batil, false regimes, (should) all (be) down and the Truth Castles should get up and the flags of Truth, (the) flags of skies, should be put there!

And it is from Sunnah to be fasting (on the) last day of (the) passing year and at the beginning of (the) new year and the Prophet (is) giving good tidings that if anyone (is) fasting (on the) last day and (the) first day, (it is) going to be like a person (who is) fasting (the) whole year!

May Allah forgive us and send us what we are hoping (for)... Fatiha, for the honour of the Seal of Prophets - sallaLlahu alayhi wa sallam...

I was not thinking to speak anything, I was so weak, but they are making me to address (you) in such a way... I never... it is not something from my thinking, no, (it is) directly (coming), that is a channel from Heavens to our Grandsheikh and he is granting to me!...

Sheikh Adnan Effendi (is) sending his Salams. I was a little bit late (today), but just (as) I was coming (for prayer), he was phoning to me... That is Qutub, and Sheikh Hisham Effendi (also) Qutub... He said to me that just he is with me, therefore...

Sheikh Adnan Effendi was in Hajj, everyone (was) running and kissing his hands and saying: "O Sheikh Nazim!" "Ya Hu, Sheikh Nazim? No Sheikh Nazim!" "No, you are Sheikh, Grandsheikh!" kissing him, asking something from him... He is saying: "What I am giving to you? If (I am) giving (you) from my clothes small-small, I am going to be naked!" Thousands of people (were) coming on him, because he dressed more greatness (hayba)... Adnan Effendi, ma sha Allah!

There is 7 big ones, Ishraqiun, (and the) first (one is:) Sheikh Adnan Effendi... May Allah bless him... Aman, ya Rabbi... Fatiha.. . In Lebanon, ohhh! Awasif, thuluj, rains and snowing and blowing, uhhh!.... Trablus, I like that place, (it is a) holy place, (a) powerful place, (with the) Barakat of Sham Sharif, Trablus Sham... I have been there 1944 first, I was that time 22 years old...

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, la ilaha ill-Allah, wa Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa li-llahi-l hamd!..

Ila hadrati Nabiyyi l-Mustafa wa ´ala niyyati l-shifa wa daf'i l-bala wa raf'i l-ghala, wa l-nasra ´ala l-a'da, ´ala niyyati l-futuh wa farij 'ani l-muslimin, wa li-amwatina wa amwati l-muslimin, bi niyati l-ghaith... for the appearance of the Sahibu Zaman and Sayyidina Isa - alayhima salam -, for the fall of the tyrants, the victory of the Ahlu l-Islam and the opening of the world for Islam

Fatiha!

Allah Allah!

Secrets of Our Sustenance And 3 Tests

Secrets of Our Sustenance and 3 Tests of Khidr [as] and Moses [as] all Naqshbandis will go thru.

http://www.nurmuhammad.com/NaqshbandiSecrets/3testskhidrandnabimusa.htm

3 TESTS OF KHIDR (AS)
Three incidents from the story of Sayyidina Musa/ Moses and Sayyidina Khidr/ Saint George (as) are fundamental Naqshbandi teachings: Rendering the ship useless, destroying the naughty character of the boy and finally hiding the treasure. The Shaykh uses them in his teaching and discipline training.

Moses and Saint George

In the first test, Sayyidina Musa and Sayyidina Khidr (as) came across a ship used by a pious man to earn his sustenance. There is an evil sultan who is capturing ships and seizing the sustenance of all virtuous people. So Sayyidina Khidr (as) put a hole in the ship and sank it, to keep it out of harm's way.

That sultan is Shaytan; king over this dunya, its affairs and its people. If the people submit to him, they are completely lost.

The objective is to seek refuge with the "real king" from the "false oppressor king" who destroys his subjects. The ship is one's sustenance, the ability to earn a living, which was not destroyed but was rendered useless. If Sayyidina Khidr (as) had destroyed the ship in this situation, Naqshbandi mureeds would always be in difficulty, never having any sustenance.

Sayyidina Khidr (as) is a Naqshbandi shaykh and our Shaykh is at even higher levels . Khidr (as) represents the Barzakh/ Purgatory, the point between the two lams [in the name Allah], the barrier to the inter-dimensional realm. Sayyidina Khidr (as) represents the secret between the here & the hereafter. The material world, which is one lam and the world of light , which is the other lam. Say. Khidr is representing a secret of the living Shaykhs in dunya and the Shaykhs who have past to the world of light.

If you have a big ship (sustenance), and you have a connection with the shaykh, when you become prosperous you might begin to think that blessing is from yourself. This may divert you from the way and move you into the hands of Shaytan. So the Shaykh puts a hole in the ship and sinks it in order to develop your faith, so that it goes not to the satanic empire, but to the Muhammadan Empire and Sultanate.

Secrets of the Spider Web and Enneagram are the Teachings of Naqshbandia

Al-ankabut [The Spider], Surah 29, which is the reflection of 92, which is the Prophet (s) in Abjad numerology. Always approach a reality through its reflection.
http://www.nurmuhammad.com/images/LowREsMeditationpic/SpiderWebnurmuhammad.jpg

The Prophet (s) also said, "The heart of a believer is the house of God.

The Cave represents the Prophetic heart and the Divine Presence is hidden within. "Nothing can contain me but my believer's heart" The Prophet (s) took Sayyidina Abu Bakr with him into the Cave and then the secret in the Prophet's (s) heart was covered by the spider web. The analogy of the web is the secret of the number 29, and the importance of the spider that does not hunt for food but builds a web and waits.

Naqshbandia is from the highest reality, Shaykh is teaching us that your sustenance comes like the spider's. Some animals hunt everywhere for their sustenance while others sit and wait for their sustenance to come to them. The Spider must weave a beautiful web, and wait for a fly. Your dhikr, your awrad is your web Allah describes that web as the most beautiful of houses but very fragile. You are with the Abdullah's [Servants of God] who reflect and represent the Prophet (s). They represent the secret of Abdullah, the 29th name of Prophet Muhammad [s] that is the secret of ServantHood to Allah. The heart of my believer contains me. So direct yourself to those Hearts that hold the reality of the Abdullah's who hold that secret.

The Prophet was hiding from oppressors in a cave, the entrance to the cave was sealed by The spider web, and veiled the presence of the Prophet (s) and that is why many people don't understand it. When they looked in the cave they saw only the web and were blocked from seeing the Prophet (s). That secret blocks them from that reality. That secret - you don't have to run after your sustenance. Your web is your Muraqabah, your prayer, your dhikr. Muraqabah is everything; it is the study of light. You cannot be ABD"ALLAH, but you can be abdunur [Servant of The Light]. Gurdjieff went to Grandshaykh and he was given name Abdunur.

When Prophet (s) opens from that opening, that vision, that what you are is servant to the nur, the light, that becomes the web. You build a beautiful web and then Allah will send you flies [sustenance]. But if you are going to be a hunter, then you will be distracted all your life walking and hunting.

That is the power of their Maqam [Heavenly Station] and their power and ability. Shah Naqshband is the 17th Grandshaykh and the 17th name of Allah is r-Razzaq [ The sustainer] , which is sustenance in dunya and akhirah.

To harness Divine sustenance and rizq build your web, then your sustenance will come easily as the flies hit it[ In this system Allah is showing us Who inspires the fly to approach the web, it is a Divine inspiration]. If it doesn't work, there may be holes in your web; so examine your practices and be sure they are correct. Look at your awrad and be certain that your connection to The Naqshbandi Shaykh is very strong.

Mawlana will dress you and fill you and then take you to Grandshaykh. Then you can connect directly to him. He is like the sun; you can look and you can suntan in his light, but don't stay too long or you will lose your eyesight and you will be sunburned. Look to the moon. The moon doesn't own the light. Awliya are not the light, but they have been annihilated in the light. They became the perfect mirror -- perfected by shining and polishing. Whoever looks in his mirror will see Grandshaykh reflected in it. Grandshaykh says, "the secret is in me."

The Shaykhs of old did the digging for the treasure. They did 5 years in khalwah. They waited at the tree for 7 years. They spent years in caves and in jungles, in forbidden understandings and in treacherous teachings. They got the treasure, the reality which reflects to us. Since the time of the Prophet (s) fewer and fewer people can attain those heavenly stations. Today that level they reached is unattainable. We can't do those things; we won't wait even 7 minutes. All we can do is love them and do Muraqaba and zikr; we just polish and polish. Then that reality it is reflected onto us.

There is a story of a King who sent for artisans to make a beautiful picture for him. Some of them painted and some sculpted, while the Persians only polished the wall until it shone. The Shaykhs of old were like those artisans -- they made the paintings and sketches. Then Grandshaykh did the polishing and they became perfect mirrors. Grandshaykh is dressed in all that beauty. He polished Shaykh Hisham to such perfection and beauty, that he became the perfect mirror. In him you are seeing the reflection of Grandshaykh and all his secrets.

That is the reality of the number 11:
You cannot go directly to Allah without a mirror.

Shaytan says that you can go directly to Allah, and that there is no need for a mirror. So he was taken away.

But you must go through the mirror; you must go through Muhammad (s)
Once you are dressed in that understanding let him dress you with his light. Then will come the difficult part - he will start to polish and scrape, using a wool pad and pulling off all the scabs. No one wants to look into that mirror because it is the only way for you to be polished.

That is our web, the reflection of the Prophet (s), the understanding of 29, of lam Alif If you are existing in the reflection of Shaykh which is the reflection of Grandshaykh, which is the reflection of all those before him, until you are receiving from Sayyidina Muhammad, then your sustenance comes straight to you as Allah will not disappoint Sayyidina Muhammad. If it is not coming, we have to find where in our program things are not working out. If we can build that web from all our dhikr, awrad, and muraqabah, Shaykh will bring back that boat, that had the hole put in it!

Every night in the cave, Sultan al Awliya is with Sayyidina Mahdi [as]. You are thinking, I should be with Sayyidina Mahdi and Sayyidina Isa [as]. This is Muhammadan reality. All those who are coming in the time of Sayyidina Mahdi, are all Muhammadan - in the image of Muhammadan reality. That is Muhammadan dress.

Everyone (here) should be in the dress of Mawlana and visualize Mawlana in everything we do, in prayers, in meditation, and in dhikr. That starts the burning and scratching and that is why when we come (here) all these issues come out.

Why? Because when you are away you are worshipping in falsehood. When you worshipped your desires, you and Shaytan got along just fine. But when you begin to change, Shaytan gets very upset and sends fire. That fire is part of the battle. The other part is the Shaykh burning away all that falsehood. You see and taste everything you did. You see that every test that came to you was something you did to someone else and you taste that bitterness. You may think it was not so bad, but it was. You will feel the pain of what you did to others, and what they felt at the time. That is how Shaykh brings out all your bad character.

When you are dressed as the Mentor, you don't exist, you have no right to exist. Nothing exists except Shaykh. Then when you are hit by a stinging test, you can say, "No matter how much you test me, I am you . That is the ship of safety; otherwise you will run from Tariqat. We stay here seeking refuge in the cave where it is safe. Many people, when they are hit by testing, run away because they don't have the basic tools to succeed.

The Shaykh says, "When you are successful, you are me, and I will feed you and give you whatever you want." And if you are not him, either you won't get what you want or you will be more oppressed

Station of oneness.

Muhammadan RasulAllah. You don't exist in la ilaha ill Allah.

You exist in the ocean of Muhammadan RasulAllah. He is only one in that ocean, wahid. You have to be Muhammadiyoon to exist in that ocean. The only way to be Muhammadiyoon is to be Haqqaniyoon . Then you will see sustenance begin to come to you.

The secret of Sayyidina Maryam is that your sustenance comes. As soon as you deviate, you start tearing holes in your web, the flies begin to fly out When your web is broken you cannot catch flies any more. There is some deficiency in your program. You left something and now your web is messy, full of patches and not beautiful anymore. You can't catch anything in it. You need to find the problem in order to rebuild the web.

The Shaykhs raise the ship so that sustenance can come. In that perfection they send the flies in the amount we need, not what we want but what we need. We must then respect and love and appreciate what we have, and not focus on what we wanted. We may want many things; Mercedes, fancy clothes and money, but this distracts us from being thankful for what we have.

The 2nd test is destroying the bad character of the child. This pattern of the way doesn't deviate from the cookie cutter. You must work with other students. You may hear people say, "Since I took bayat my sustenance has dropped." "I was a teacher, I lost my students,'" "I lost my house, they repossessed my car." Have you not seen those whom we take their sustenance and give them Paradise in exchange? This is the best of deals.

So the Shaykh is going to eradicate that bad character. All your memorization and all that dhikr and awrad are all based on bad ego. The only thing that has no pride in it is meditation, because you do it by yourself when you are all alone. It is a hard practice to maintain and perfect because the Shaykh comes and chastises you and tells you "you did this wrong." However, it is this chastising that removes the naughtiness of the little child who always wants to do what is corrupt.

The third test is to uncover the hidden treasure. That is Abu Yateem, father of orphans is the Prophet (s). Prophet (s) has hidden a tremendous secret in the hearts of his followers. Mawlana's duty is to preserve your secret so that Shaytan doesn't take it. When you take Bayyat, that secret is yours. So don't go to anyone but your Shaykh. They are just covering the treasure while we are trying to reach the amanaat / trust. Shaykh is holding that trust for you.

When you connect and meditate you reach a connection with him. We must remember to contemplate and be patient in seeking sustenance.

The most important reason we are here is to perfect our relationship with Shaykh; to dress in his reality while he is amongst us; for us to be annihilated and for nothing to exist except Shaykh. How can you be punished if you are in the dress of the Shaykh ? If you are in his dress how they can hit you[ metaphorically speaking in regards to life's tests? That is our safety; our whole life's protection is based on that. May Allah give us endless forgiveness and forgive our difficulty .Shayateen are fighting us intensely, but Mawlana Shaykhs power is great and we hope in the end he takes us to annihilation in his heart and saves us from the difficulties which are coming.
Fatiha.

Who is a Wali - Leaving Anger

Fast from anger 40 days

Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani
22 February 2008, Masjid al-Iman, Oakland, California

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytaan ir-rajeem

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid a

This is a continuation of yesterday, the previous session. First of all we have to say that alhamdulillahi rabbil-`alameen that he guided use to be at the door of his awliya, that he guided us to be at the door of his saints where Allah described them : awliyaee tahta qibaabee la ya`lamahum ghayree.

Awliyaullah very rarely to know them. They might behave very normal that people might, will never think that they are awliyaullah. There are a type of awliyaullah like that. There is another type which is ... Allah did not ask them to hide their personality because they are needed in this life to be known for people to follow them. And those who are hiding are hiding themselves because it is their duty; they are under very high responsibility of trying to as much as they can polish the hearts of people through spiritual connections. So they are busy in that and they have been ordered to hide themselves because this is their job. So they are going to be between the Ummah and that is their job to be between the Ummah and you don't know them and you don't think they are awliyaullah. And the others who are between the Ummah are allowed to be known, they have a duty to guide the Ummah to their ways. Through their ways. We thank Allah that he guided us to the known ones and hidden ones and that he guided us to be with known ones and with the hidden ones. Not everyone can be with the known ones and hidden ones. Very few are with both.

We are thanking Allah swt that He made us all to be at the threshold of our Shaykh Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani who is connected to our Grandshaykh Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah al-Faiz ad-Daghestani. And everyone of us coming to this way or this order orthis teaching is looking for something; looking to find himself or herself. What makes a person to come? Either they are in love with spirituality and they come and be attached to those who are connecting them to their shuyukh. Or they come to find themselves, they feel something is missing in them and they come to find what is missing.

And all the time when we were looking, when we were young I remember
we were looking since childhood. Since I was 12 years of age. I was looking to find a wali, to find a saint. To find what I hear people speaking about, awliyaullah, awliyaullah, awliyaullah. To my mind awliya are those who do miracles. Later I find out that awliyaullah are those who can do miracles , those you can see and those which you cannot see. And later in my life I found the miracle best one is the ones that you see later in life, hidden and the ones that are apparent and most important is the miracle of knowledge. The knowledge they were bringing was higher than knowledge of `ulama and in my father's house many `ulama were coming and we were happy t o mix with them and until we met with Grandshaykh and we met with Mawlana Shaykh.

Then we understood that to be a will is not something easy. You might be, as many people like to be called representatives of Mawlana Shaykh or deputies, they are free to call themselves what they want to call. You can be representative, deputy, shaykh, be! But to be a wali is something that is very difficult.

Don't think that if you call yourself or someone calls you a representative you are a wali. Wilayah is something different, wilaya is beyond even imagination. A wali is not so cheap to be given. so how to be a wali, since it is difficult we want to know how to be a wali. A wali is that one who left his life completely and his desires. And the one that performed the 500 obligations that we spoke about in the previous session and left the 800 forbiddens that we spoke about yesterday.

A wail is that one who left all these and never asked to be something. He never asked to be a shaykh; he never asked to be someone of fame; he never asked to be someone that people run to him. He wants to be a person normal, humble person, that nothing of this dunya can play with him. So always I used ot hear from Grandshaykh and this is from notes of Grandshaykh, as I said yesterday it was 1393. How many years ago? 30 years ago, more than 30 years ago.

He used to say to me and my brother and those who were listening, "O my son you want this tariqah. I will give you the key for that. But it has the price. " all of us want to know the price, we would run for it. he said, "to drop anger. You must not be angry from anyone. You msut drop anger from your heart."

Whey people get angry? People get angry because their ego is so high it cannot accept the other. Prophet said, to Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, "al-ghadabu kufran ya Aba Bakr - Ghadab, anger, is disbelief, O Abu Bakr."

Ghadab is the tree, the trunk of all badness, of all evilness, of all bad characters. It is the tree of Shaytan that is within us that tries to kill us from within. That is why we said in previous session the most dangerous is the weeds. People go and pull the weeds from around the tree as the weeds when they grow kill the tree. Shariah, Islam is the message that the seal of messengers, the prophet brought to us in order to follow. But what are we doing? We are letting these devils, the effect of Shaytan like weeds, to take over that trunk to take over and kill that tree after.

So Mawlana Shaykh and Grandshaykh said, "The most important step you want to step in tariqah is to drop ghadab." And he said that, "He is relating a story that the Prophet one time told his Sahaba and Sayyidina `Umar was there and he was addressing directly to Sayyidina `Umar because Sayyidina `Umar has a very strong personality. He doesn't accept anything wrong. He gets immediately sharp. Sayyidina `Ali is softer. Sayyidina `Umar is very strong. He said to him and I am quoting Grandshaykh: "Ya `Umar. Anyone of my Ummah my nation in the end of the days, (where the signs of the Last Days appeared which we are in it today; if we go and read Approach of Armageddon we see we are in the Last Days and most of the hadith of the Prophet he predicted came true, not came true but came through. And awliyaullah are expecting any moment a big change. He said, "Ya ``Umar! In the end days that are coming, my nation are going to be rewarded more than people are rewarded now and Allah swt is going to raise their levels when they are going to drop from falling into the desires of Shaytan even for one sin, if they stop doing it for Allah's sake, if they feel they can do that sin and they are going to do it and they stop for Allah's love and for Prophet's love they are going to be rewarded more than people are rewarded in these days."

That means the tajallis, manifestations, of the name ar-Rahman are so huge that anyone who stops doing a sin will be rewarded with rewards that have never been rewarded before. Not that we will be better. Sahaba no one can attain their rank, sahaba are sahaba, no one can reach their ranks. But the rewards that are opened in the Last Days are much more than what is opened before. Because we are in days that sins are everywhere and when you stop yourself from going into desires of the ego it is as if you are doing the Jihad al-akbar. That is the great jihad the sahaba were giving their lives for it. Today when you leave one sin you will be rewarded like that.

"Today," he said, and it was 1392, now we are in 1429. How many years? 36 years. He said "Allah opened a certain private special manifestation that he didn't open it before, it has been opened now," he said, "in order that anyone that will try to prohibit himself from falling into the traps of Shaytan will be rewarded as Jihad al-Akbar."

Sayyidina Adam (as) did one sin, Iblees did one sin, and he was cursed. Sayyidina Adam (as) did one sin and was sent to earth and Iblees did one sin and was cursed. And the prophet said if you avoid doing one sin you will be raised up to heaven. Look at the difference. if you are able , o muslims, o tariqah people from falling into one sin you will be raised to heavens. How many sins are we facing a day? Ask yourself? Count them too many. Every move we are moving we are moving in sin. Hidden sin and not hidden.

That is why it is very difficult to keep our anger down because Shaytan is trying all his time to come through our ears to our mind to deviate you from the track that you are on Sirat al-mustaqeem trying to take you away and seeing how much you move away.

And Grandshaykh said, "If someone tries to protect himself for 40 days haalan fa`lan, which means he tried to stop himself from physically doing something and from spiritually doing something wrong, he will be given like a power to cut completely the tree of anger and the tree of forbiddens
from its trunk. But you have to protect yourself 40 days from falling into the trap of Shaytan. That is why the awiyaullah order their followers 40 days of seclusion. In seclusion you are not with people, not with dunya, and you are in your room or cave and doing your seclusion. Today when you do seclusion where you do seclusion? They send you there is a from in this place in Madina or Makkah or in Sham Sharif, you do seclusion.

Before when awiyaullah were ordering their students to do seclusion it was either in caves where you be alone all the time and there jinn come and they will eat your legs at night. You don't know how much you will be disturbed. You hear the wind coming hooo, and you might hear voices and you have to do seclusion there; no one there. They give you dry bread for 40 days and they give you water; it might be near a river or a mountain near a waterfall and eating bread, dry bread. How many voices you are going to hear there? Some they send their followers in precious times, to graves - dig a grave and then go into the seclusion there between dead people. Can you do that? 40 days. Next day you run away! Not next day. Two minutes. As soon as they drop you and go they see you following them back.

There is a cemetery near Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and there is cemetery near Grandshaykh's house, in Cyprus near where Mawlana is living. I know one person who doesn't sleep except in the cemetery. He has a grave and he has a tent and he sleeps there and it is around all the graves. Subhanallah he doesn't get scared, he doesn't fear anything, at night with the dead people. One might come from the grave.

Sayyida Nafisa at-Tahira one of the grandchildren of the Prophet, buried in Egypt. Imam Shafi`i used to come and study with her and learn from here. She digged her grave in her room. Every day she used to go in her grave and recite Qur'an so that the baraka of Qur'an will be in the grave so when she Is buried and find it. Did any one of us dig his grave and go there every day recite Qur'an there?

Remember this dunya is not going to last. Worms are going to eat you. They are as they are moving and eating, every cell they eat from your body, they are going to ask you where you wasted that cell. What that cell did, how many sins it made. We are asking Allah to protect us. We are sinful servants. We ask Allah to accept us as servants. But we are sinful servants.

So he said that "To leave for 40 days to completely drop off from your life, all kinds of bad desires and only for 40 days doing your prayers and worship to Allah, the tree of anger, the tree of forbiddens will be cut completely and you will be rewarded as Jihad al-akbar and Jihad al-asghar, you will be rewarded like that if you leave it for 40 days."

He said that "awliyaullah before they need to do too many seclusions in order to reach that level of purity, eliminating from themselves the 800 forbiddens, the akhlaq adh-dhamima the worst of characters to eliminate from that person." He said that "In this time Allah opened a special rahmat that in order to reach the highest level of moral excellence as if we have done a lot of seclusion , although we didn't do any seclusion, and if you don't do any seclusion today there is a special mercy that anyone, if before they had to do many seclusion to reach moral excellence, as if you had done hundreds of seclusions, what you have to do? Allah's mercy is like that. Allah's blessing and tajalli is like that.
What is required from us? If you guarantee you will be granted the maqam al-ihsan an ta`budallah ka-anaka taraah, maqam al-ihsan third level of Islam. What do you have to do? Drop anger from yourself. Don't get angry. Don't try to evaluate people and make for them accounts. First evaluate yourself, are you good or are you bad? Don't look at others. When you look at others Allah doesn't like that." Grandshaykh said and I will quote that. Man yarda `an ahwaalina Allah yarda `anhu. Wa alladhee...w yuhaasibahum wa yatruk al-`ibaad and the one who doesn't run after people and try to see their mistakes and doesn't try to... Allah will send that person to Paradise without account. Leave the people alone. What is your concern? They are giving you a cheap package. Before you had to do a lot of worship ...
la rahata fee ad-deen. It is very difficult "no relaxation in religion." They know we are lazy today they know we are sinful today.
They say do this and you get everything. That means "what do you want better than that?" That means don't look what he is doing, don't look what she is doing. Look at oneself, am I good or am I bad. Everyone looks at himself good. That is garbage.

Allah said in Holy Qur'an "wa la toozakoo anfusikum - Don't try to uplift yourself or don't try to raise yourself." Don't say, "I am good." What did the Prophet do? Allah made him the moon and made him the sun, made him everything. Subhanallah what a big difference between what Allah gave to the Prophet and he is seal of messengers and what he said, "Allahuma la takilnee ila nafsee tarfata `ayn – O Allah don't let me to myself for the blink of an eye." Look from this how much the self is bad, although the Prophet has every goodness in him. For one second. That means for one nanosecond. Don't say to yourself, "I am good." Don't listen to what your self gossips in your ear. What time do gossips come? When we are praying. To see how much valuable prayer is to Allah swt, see how much Shaytan comes to destroy it. When you say "Allahu Akbar," Allah! Everything comes there. Whey doesn't it come when you are sitting? Why it doesn't come now? No, only when you say "Allahu Akbar." It is the magic word, Shaytan gets upset.

Then say bismillahi alhamdulillah rabbil-`alameen. Because when you are outside the prayer you are in dunya already you are falling into sins. But when you are in prayer, is when you are away from sins and so that shows how much prayers important to Allah and how much Shaytan doesn't like them.

And so what is needed? To do seclusion. And to show how much it is rewarded then Allah says leave them alone, even your children, even your wives. Allah will ask them. We are not going to ask them and they will not listen to you. Your children think that they know more than you; they want to go womanizing and making drugs and doing everything now. And if you tell them "no" they call police on you.

Because Shaytan is penetrating through them from top to bottom, because of anger. Go and speak with a child see how much he is anger. What we call in Arabic an-nafs at-tifl al-madhmoum. He develops that anger from childhood. People are angry with each other. May Allah save us from that and protect us. May Allah open to us the best of his beauty and love for the sake of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and for sake of our shuyukh especially for sake of Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani and Grandshaykh.

Alhamdulillah.

(Holy Quran S.28: V.88)... kullu shayy'in halikun illa Wajhahu, laHu l-Hukmu wa ilayhi turja'un.

All things perish except His Face. His is the Judgment, and unto Him you shall be returned....

A Local Representative or Someone Who Leads Dhikr is in no way anything close to
the Greatness of the Living Murshids. They exist on this earth solely for the purpose of Guiding Souls to their Heavenly Realities.

What are Naqshbandi Murshids

The Four Levels of Murshid
By Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani

If you really love Allah, follow me and Allah will love you. (Qur'an )

The Naqshbandi shaykhs are guides to Sayedena Muhammad [S] and Allah . Whatever Prophet gives you, take it, and whatever he prohibits, stop it. (Qur'an ) They maintain the discipline of shari'ah, to build you up with daily obligations and to a level of iman and progressing to the level of Ihsan.

Genuine Murshids are of four levels:

~ Murshid Tabarruk : Guides mainly for receiving baraka and usually accomplishes that goal by giving you an awrad and daily practices.

~ Murshid Tazkiyya : Guides who lift you up by taking away your bad actions and desires.

~ Murshid Tasfiyya : Guides who get rid of all your desires for dunya.

~ Murshid Tarbiyya : The highest in rank who will build you up with discipline and take you to your station in the Divine Presence.

MURSHID AT-TABARRUK

~ He is on the first level and has permission to teach you and put on your tongue the talqin of dhikr.

He teaches you how to remember and call upon Allah, and how to follow Allah's orders. He gives you the first step on the road of tariqat. Like a child whose first word is "baba," you call on who you love first. So he teaches you how to say "Allah" and to build that connection between your heart and Heavens. By recitation, you will see Allah's signs.

If you do not see them, you haven't reached the level of what the Murshid is trying to show you.

He has to put on your tongue the sultan of dhikr as described in the Qur'an:
We revealed the Qur'an and We are protecting it. He will put the recitation of Qur'an and the names of Allah and the direction to Prophet (i.e., how to recite salawat) according to your personal necessity, to reach the presence of Sayedena Muhammad [s]. The recitation of salawat varies from one person to another. They tell you which names of Allah to recite and how to recite the salawat according to your capability and necessity. The Murshid at-Tabarruk must have knowledge and power of all praises of Allah - whether spoken or silent.

He must know the dhikr of every single creation that exits, both living and non-living.

He also knows what your body needs to recite tasbih as every cell in your body has a certain tasbih. This Murshid knows which language and what kind of tasbih every creature makes, hearing them all at once, but never do they overlap or get confused.

He knows all the tasbihs for Muslims and non-Muslims, because their bodies make tasbih regardless of whether his/her body and mind accept Islam.

He receives from the Prophet's ? knowledge precise information regarding what every living and non-living creature is doing, both in dunya and Barzakh.

He also knows fully about the jinn and their favors from Allah and/or their punishments.

He knows precisely how every human being and jinn can attain the satisfaction of Allah, including what actions will open the doors to reach the baraka of the presence of Sayedena Muhammad [S].

He will know what Tasbih the murid needs for his body and for his soul, separately.

The Murshid at-Tabarruk knows the names of all humans throughout creation, as taught to Adam , and exemplified in the verses of Qur'an, wherein Allah asks the angels if they knew all the names of creation but they did not. When He asked the question of Adam, he recited all the names of creation one-by-one. As he did so, each of their spiritual forms appeared in front of Adam. This Murshid must have inherited that power from Adam.

He must know the angels of every being in creation, including the ones that record your good and bad actions, as well as the ones that monitor your food intake.

~ He must know all the angels in service to humans.

~ He must even know the different shifts of angels that descend-ones that descend ten minutes before Fajr, before Maghrib, and between Maghrib and Isha (Note: in previous times, the shift changed at Zuhr, but during Grandshaykh Abdullah's time it changed to between Asr and Maghrib).

~ These angels that come at shifts are expecting the murid to be performing his prescribed awrad from this Murshid.

~ They expect to see the murid engaged in these practices when they descend, in order to pass to him/her their heavenly lights and connection. If the murid is not so engaged in his awrad during these special times, the angels cannot illuminate his or her heart. In fact, murids who don't do their awrad are like donkeys. In return for keeping his or her daily obligations, the murid can depend on the protection of the Murshid and is guaranteed his connection to Sayedena Muhammad [S]. This connection must exist in order the Murshid to pass the murid on to the second level, to the Murshid at-Tazkiyya.

~ This first level begins with reciting daily 5,000 times "Allah, Allah" and reciting 500 times salawat in the prescribed fashion.

~ The next level is reciting daily 24,000 times "Allah, Allah" and 5,000 times salawat.
This is only the first level out of seventeen distinct levels of the Murshid Tabarruk. Grandshaykh stopped at just this first level because he said people's minds couldn't carry more than that. After all seventeen levels comes the Murshid at-Tazkiyya.

In other Naqshbandi chains other than our Golden Chain, there may be a physically different shaykh for each of the four levels. In some cases, a shaykh can carry two or three levels before another shaykh physically takes over.

However in the Golden Chain, the Shaykh of this time has authority and power to govern all four levels for every murid. That is why once a person takes bay' at' in our way, they will never need another Murshid. Nowadays, our Shaykh just wants us to realize we are incapable of doing anything of value. The worse we think we are, the happier they are with us. He wants us to know that never will our 'amal take us anywhere, and that the only chance we have is the intercession of our Shaykh. Therefore, we must constantly ask for his forgiveness and mercy.

Grandshaykh Abdullah (may Allah sanctify his soul) often reminded us of the following:
"You must always keep three nails tacked to your forehead (i.e. remember these three rules at all times if you want to succeed in tariqat).

1. "If I give you a broken shovel and tell you to dig down until the middle of the earth to get your diamonds, you dig. You never ask why or complain; you just dig.

2. "If I give you a bucket and say 'empty the ocean', don't ask if the water will ever decrease, or argue that it is impossible to empty the ocean with a bucket: just start scooping! The second the thought occurs to you that the task is impossible, impractical, or useless, you failed that test and will have to start all over again.
3. "If I tell the ant her sustenance is in the West and she is in the East, she will just start walking. The murid must be like that ant: do not use your mind to understand how you will get your sustenance, just go! If you die trying, you die, you surrender."

The most important instruction is, if one completes these three actions consistently, Allah will send the angel Reeha Sibah, who will carry the murid to the Divine Presence! He will do this for us because we obeyed Allah by obeying our Shaykh, and His Mercy is Infinite and He may do as He pleases. We will reach the Divine Stations not because of our 'amal, worship, or any sacrifice, but because of our level of surrender.

Upon hearing this, a murid asked, "Why then strive in worship?" The Shaykh will take each of his followers into the Divine Presence at some point,

~ but only the ones who strive in Allah's Way will actually see and hear in that Ocean.
~ For the special ones who fulfill their obligations, visions and sounds will open for them. You must never try to be proud of completing your obligations, no. Realize it is worth nothing, but offer them obediently and humbly, knowing that without your Shaykh you are a loser.

MURSHID AT-TAZKIYYA

The second category is Murshid at-Tazkiyya. He guides you in a cleansing process called tazkiyat an-nafs. How does one clean one's self? What kind of struggle must one go through in order to achieve control over one's desires?

The Prophet described this struggle, al-jihad an-nafs, as the jihad al-akbar in this Hadith: We returned from the jihad al-asghar to the jihad al-akbar. "His companions asked him, "What is the jihad al-akbar?" meaning, "What could be greater than fighting against unbelief, in the way of God and expecting to die at any moment?" He replied, "The jihad al-nafs."

It is very difficult to fight one's self. It is easy to fight one's enemy because you know he is your enemy, but your self will never tell you it is your enemy.

The Prophet [s] said: Whoever guarantees whatever is between his two jaws and his two legs,

I will guarantee him paradise.

Desire is whatever comes and goes from the mouth and whatever proceeds from sexual desire, shahwat al-haraam. Jihad an-nafs brings control of such desires. Your self will never allow you to control it. It is always in a fight with you. The tongue always desires the best food. In struggling with the self, first is the desire for food. You want the best kind of food, always seeking more types of food. If you have ten, you want twelve. Always the eyes are hungry!

The Prophet [S], along with the sahaba, most frequently ate leftover sauces of meat, without any meat. They dipped the bread in the sauce, considered it a great meal, and they were happy, Alhamdulillah. Nowadays, oh! We want so many foods, shipped from other countries, to make exotic dishes of every kind! So, at this level, prohibiting your tongue from eating what is forbidden and even from overeating, is essential. Backbiting, lying, spreading mischief and planning conspiracies - all this is through the tongue and must be avoided as it is from shaytan. Anyone indulging in these practices becomes like a peacock - arrogant. Pharaoh became so arrogant, saying, "I am your Lord most high." He did not see anyone higher than himself.

The Murshid at-Tazkiyya destroys these desires. How?
By showing how to follow in the footsteps of the Prophet [S].

~ The self consists of four enemies: nafs, dunya, Hawa, and Shaytan.
~ Everyone has these four enemies attached to him, without exception. The Murshid teaches you to struggle with these enemies by following the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad [S].
~ In addition, the Murshid at-Tazkiyya has complete knowledge of the four Islamic schools of thought.
~ He must know the biographies and all the legal rulings, scholarly opinions and religious teachings of Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi'i, and Imam Ahmed. In order to guide the murid, this level of Murshid has complete spiritual access to all that these four legendary imams brought, and is he able to follow them without any mistake, or else he cannot guide you.
~ All the qualities of a Murshid at-Tabarruk must be held by a Murshid at-Tazkiyya and on top of that he must have knowledge of the four schools of thought, and he must possess an ijaza.
Present-day institutions ignore this tradition by awarding PhDs. From the beginning of Islam until thirty to forty years ago, there was no PhD, there was only ijaza - permission. The Shaykh acknowledges the student has completed their studies under his tutelage, and authorizes them to teach.
~ The Shaykh must receive his ijaza from a previous shaykh, going back in a chain that reaches to one of the four imams.

This system has been completely destroyed within the past fifty years. Now Islam is studied in university systems which have no relationship with how Islam has been taught for fourteen centuries. That is why today's scholars have no light, but only interest in wealth and titles in which previously scholars had no interest whatsoever. Scholars of the past sat in the mosque's corners, teaching their students the love, the moderation, and blessing of Islam. These days some scholars are teaching how to fast, how to create disasters, cutting and pasting from Qur'an and Hadith, teaching their students to spread confusion. Why are Muslims not successful? Because they are very far from their religion. People like us, we are not leaders, and we are not presidents. We cannot bring change. Those who can make a change are far from Islam; they are Muslim by name alone.

The Murshid at-Tazkiyya begins with la ilaha ill-Allah.

~ What did the Prophet bring first La ilaha ill-Allah. When that kalimat is established in the self, how can the four enemies attack you? When you believe in that, and hold firm belief in Akhira, you cannot commit any wrong. We say it only by tongue, but not by action. If we say it in truth with our tongues and our actions, Allah and his Prophet will support us.
~ Don't think we will not face difficulties. Did the Prophet [S] suffer from his people? He said: No prophet was harmed by his people, as I was harmed by my people. He was the best of messengers, but Allah sent him difficulties to observe his constitution and consistency. Therefore la ilaha ill- Allah was only established with the Prophet, as he was the perfect one to carry it. If one of today's scholars was to lift one foot from the earth and fly, he would become so arrogant, and people will begin to worship him.

The Prophet [S] went into Isra and Mi'raj. In a physical body built according to the laws of this world, he traveled against the laws of this world, to Heaven and back, and he was never arrogant. He was the simplest person. He never raised his head. Now if someone is lifted not even off the ground, but just onto a chair, he becomes so arrogant that he will not even accept the visitor who knocks on his door.

Don't refuse to open your door! The Murshid at-Tazkiyya is the one running after Allah. Allah sends to him sincere servants, running to sit with him.
~ The first thing he teaches is la ilaha ill-Allah, to establish perfect tawhid in his followers.
~ When that is established, then they can say "Allah, Allah".
~ At that time they see the signs of Allah everywhere. [Signs of Allah is Sayedena Muhammad (s) ]
~ Then they can bear witness: ash-hadu alla ilaha ill-Allah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Abduhu wa Rasuluh.
~ That is when they make true shahada.
~ His job is to put on your tongues isma al-jalala, "Allah, Allah" at least 24,000 times. Some might say that will take all day. Try it tomorrow, and tell me how long it takes. It does not take longer than one hour, but more likely half an hour.
~ And after that say 5000 salawat on the Prophet. That takes half an hour. So the total for both is one hour!

In 1996 my shaykh, Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani (may Allah sanctify his soul) ordered me into seclusion for forty days in a mosque in Turkey. He said, "Every day do at least 48,000 "Allah, Allah" and 24,000 salawat and ten juz of Qur'an. If you finish this, you can go up to 124,000 times "Allah, Allah" and 48,000 salawat and twenty juz. If you finish that, recite the entire Qur'an and 700,000 "Allah, Allah" and 240,000 salawat."
It was tiring. Although I never completed the daily reading of thirty juz of Qur'an, I did reach 700,000 "Allah, Allah", 48,000 salawat and fifteen juz. This was in addition to all other awrad.
~ That is Murshid at-Tazkiyya. When they say, "Do it", they send support. When you are walking in His Way, He comes towards you. It is a Qudsi hadith, "If you come to Allah the span of one hand, He comes to you the span of ten hands, and if you come to Him walking, He comes to you running." It means Allah sends His support, His power, as long as you show progress.
If we show progress, Allah will send support. May Allah send us His support.
~ A Murshid at-Tazkiyya has acquired all the characteristics of a Murshid at-Tabarruk. He has the method, the way, and has inherited the secret from the Prophet [s] to perform a cleansing process on his followers through the disciple's struggle with his or her inner self.
The Murshid at-Tazkiyya must be someone who always keeps the sunnah and the shari'ah of the Prophet in the highest way, keeping al-'adheema.
~ He is aware of any thought that comes to his mind that does not coincide with the four schools of thought, and he prevents it, as he has been raised to the station that his entire heart and mind are directed by the four schools of thought, following the sunnah of the Prophet.
~ He has been granted the permission to instruct and guide his followers to call upon their Lord in tahlil twenty-four thousand times and by saying twenty-four thousand "Allah, Allah" and saying salawat five thousand times.
~ When they say "Allah", the heart and tongue will work together, like the combination of the body and soul, the combination of spirit and mind, using the physical form and the spiritual form, combining these two elements to make them seekers in the divine way.
~ Every time a murid says "Allah" his heart rhythm and his tongue rhythm go together, flying to the Divine Presence.
~ Until today, murids of the Naqshbandi tariqat are the beginners, so they are in the first stage. At that stage they cannot see that kind of enlightenment opening in front of them.
~ Only under the care of the Murshid at-Tazkiyya will the mubtadi' move to the stage of musta'i, in which the Shaykh will put on his tongue the dhikr that will lift him or her to the Divine Presence.
~ The Murshid at-Tazkiyya can call upon any Naqshbandi Shaykh, alive or dead.
~ When he calls on them, that shaykh will be immediately present through the spiritual power of the Murshid at-Tazkiyya. How many shaykhs have reached the level of sainthood through the Naqshbandi tariqat? Whichever one the Murshid at-Tazkiyya calls, living or non-living, they must appear and fulfill whatever need he has.
From the power Allah has given to the Prophet , he in turn grants to the Murshid at-Tazkiyya, for that Murshid to know all awliya- ullah in every century, by name and by spirit.
Further, he has a relationship with them, because he needs them and they need him. He must know the extent of their knowledge, and from what fountains of knowledge they are quenching their thirst.
At any specific moment, he must know what knowledge that wali is receiving, and for what hikmat and purpose they are receiving it.
In addition, he must know every wali among them, and from which prophet he inherits his secrets, for each wali is on the footsteps of one of the one hundred twenty-four thousand anbiya, according to the hadith al-'ulama warith at-al anbiya.
Another specialty of Murshid at-Tazkiyya is that he is constantly aware of the attacks by the four enemies on each of his followers. Allah grants him a power to be with each of his murids, to ascertain which of the four enemies are attacking and tricking them.
At that time, he will grab the enemies and prevent them from attacking his followers. In his company, his followers will reach the station of zahid in this life.
They become devoted purely to building up a perfect and ideal society, community and nation, in which no one discriminates against any of Allah's creation.
Whenever any of his followers has a feeling of laziness, tiredness, regret, depression or any other negative condition, with one word Murshid at-Tazkiyya can remove that condition and make that murid to feel relaxed.
That is why when sitting with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, it removes all burdens due to that attraction coming from his eyes.
The Murshid at-Tazkiyya must build up his followers to keep the highest level of the shari'ah and the sunnah of the Prophet [S]. That means in addition to the obligations, the Shaykh will push his murid to carry many voluntary forms of worship. An example is a rukhsa – you have wudu and keep it until the next prayer time. You don't renew the wudu at that time. But the second level of adheema is to make wudu at each prayer time; the higher level is to make ghusl at each prayer time.
The Murshid at-Tazkiyya must hold the power to give the murid real dreams.
In my experience, many people come and say, "I saw a Shaykh in my dream.
He looked like this (describing him) and gave me an item from Sayedena Muhammad ." Later, they encounter the Shaykh physically, or they see his photo on the Internet, or they see a murid of the Shaykh in a dream when they did not know him.
Then they meet that Shaykh later, and realize they previously met him in the dream. The Murshid can reach anyone in the world through dreams and visions. People can become followers through dreams and visions, devoted to follow the way of ahl as-sunnah wal-jama'at at the highest level, even taking orders from the Shaykh through dreams and visions. Such is the power of the Murshid at-Tazkiyya.
At that time, the Murshid at-Tazkiyya will give the follower yaqaza, and to keep his breaths, any breath - either exhaled or inhaled - must be done with observation that at any moment, Allah can stop the murid from inhaling or exhaling.
This means that in every second, with the baraka of the Murshid which he takes from the Prophet [S], the murid will remember his Lord with every breath.
Now for many of us, breathing is something the body does automatically without our awareness. We talk and we are breathing, unaware. We don't remember it. When we dive in the sea, then we remember, to go up to the surface and take a breath of air.
The Murshid at-Tazkiyya will make the murid aware that at every moment he or she is submerged in an ocean, that the energy they take in or put out, is through Allah's Qudra. [Body Mind Soul Meditations]
They then remember on every breath to say "Allah, Allah" when exhaling and inhaling, and remembering Allah through His attributes, "Hu, Hu, Hu" or through His other names, depending on the time of day and condition. Each inhalation and each exhalation is with one name of Allah.
With every inhalation there are ten angels accompanying that breath, and ten with every exhalation.
Each angel is created with a different light from Allah's Lights. Grandshaykh said that nine-tenths of that Light is from Sayedena Muhammad [S] and one-tenth is from the Light of creation.
We cannot be from Allah's Light; that is impossible. We are servants of Allah and cannot share in His Light.
Each inhalation and exhalation is with nine-tenths of the Light of Prophet and one-tenth from bahr al-qudra. The awliya say that human beings have twenty-four thousand breaths in twenty-four hours. Every inhalation and exhalation must be with dhikr-ullah. Only the Murshid at-Tazkiyya can put that on your tongue.
Each breath is on dhikr-ullah, but you are heedless of it. If you reach a higher level, you will have awareness of each breath. Once you reach the level that you are aware of the twenty-four thousand breaths, the Murshid will increase that awareness to seven hundred thousand times per day.
That is called the power of ta'i al-Lisan.
They expand time in order to allow you to call upon your Lord seven hundred thousand times, by stretching time, without making that time bigger, but by increasing it with the power of the tongue, just as Allah can make the entire world go through the eye of the needle without making the world smaller or the needle larger.
That is from haqiqat at-ta'i- one of the 6 realities in the human being. The reality of shrinking distance is within the human heart.
For one who has reached this level, they only need to say "bismillah ir-rahman ir-raheem" and can be at any location on earth within an instant.
How do they do that? Now you move with your physical body. The body is restricted with the laws of physics of the world, gravity, etc.
When you move, you move with that ability. You use a vehicle, such as a car, which has physical power to carry you.
To go faster you use an airplane. It has a more powerful engine that carries you. So why are we not stunned, when we can fly a distance that, for example, a century ago it took three years to reach, say from China to Mecca? If at that time you said, "Something will one day carry you in the air," people would have laughed at you. So awliya-ullah found a more powerful energy that can carry you: the energy of the spirit.
The car and the plane use fuel from deep within the earth. It was secluded by itself and it became energy, whereas it had previously been something else, and Allah knows what. Spirit is related to heaven. So Allah knows what kind of energy that contains.
When awliya want to move, they take the body and put it in the spirit and then move with the speed of the spirit. Then when they arrive, they take the body out of the spirit and the spirit enters the body. Why can we accept that with an airplane, but not with the body and spirit? That requires a foundation of belief in the unseen. Awliya use that same power to shrink distances.
Energy can carry anything. To lift a two-ton block of iron, you bring a crane, and with a small engine it can lift it. Why do we look at that power of the spirit as non-functional? You can make use of it, by using the power developed by saints.

Ta'i al-lisan is similar to ta'i al-makan. If you want to make dhikr twenty-four thousand times, you can by repeating "Allah, Allah" with every exhalation and inhalation. If you want to make dhikr on beads, you can reach, for example, two hundred thousand recitations by normal tongue. But to go to seven hundred thousand times you need ta'i al- lisan.
With the Murshid at-Tazkiyya's power, which he receives from the Prophet [S], he can make you to say "Allah, Allah" seven hundred thousand times in one hour; for some murids in a half hour; for some in fifteen minutes, and for some in one minute. How is that possible? How can the tongue achieve that?
Under the tongue, Allah created an artery that goes directly to the heart. If the darkness, by means of the murids progress in following the murshid's orders, is removed from the tongue and the heart, you become nurani, and at that time you are no longer the body, or the tongue, but you are using the Light, which relates to the heavens. Anything related to heavens can do anything; nothing is impossible, there are no limits. People's minds relate to the earthly world.
But when people become nuriyaaniyoon, this is the meaning of the Qudsi hadith: Neither heavens nor earth can contain Me, but the heart of my believing servant. The heart in that state can perform miracles. That heart can reach seven million times "Allah, Allah", even seventy million times. That is all granted to every human being, if he wants to follow awliya-ullah. Allah said:
My saints are under my domes; no one knows them except me. ?

MURSHID AT-TASFIYYA
Murshid at-Tasfiyya is the third level of Murshid, above the levels of Murshid at-Tazkiyyat and Murshid at-Tabarruk. Murshid at- Tabarruk is the first level of sainthood in the Naqshbandi Sufi order.
The second level, Murshid at-Tazkiyyat, must include all the aspects of Murshid at-Tabarruk and similarly Murshid at-Tasfiyya carries all that Murshid at-Tazkiyyat and Murshid at-Tabarruk carry. All the characteristics of the preceding levels will be reflected on that Murshid at-Tasfiyya.

~ Murshid at-Tabarruk and Murshid at-Tasfiyya have no interest in this dunya:
They are zahid. It is enough for them to eat a little, drink a little, and their life consists of worship and guiding people.
~ Murshid at-Tasfiyya is zahid fid-dunya as well as zahid fil-akhira. That means for him paradise is not his goal. Many people ask for everlasting paradise, jannat al-khuld. However paradise is not the goal of awliya-ullah; they must be ascetic. Their only goal is their Creator.
~ Whatever is other than Allah means nothing to them – maa siwallah. Everything that Allah has created is maa siwahu. Allah is the Creator and everything else is His creation. Awliya-ullah at that level are not interested in acquiring anything that Allah created. Their love is only for Him, and for them akhira is no different than dunya. For us, akhira is our hope and our goal. For them Allah is their hope and their goal.
The Prophet said: After people have been judged and sent to paradise and the fire, Allah will appear to some of the people of paradise [He will reveal Himself, descend].
~ The hope of these awliya is only Allah - nothing else. His entire focus through his heart cannot be to other than Allah [Aza waJal]. If for one instant his Light went to other than Allah, he will be completely removed from the Divine Presence.
~ And if Allah [Aza waJal] reveals to that wali anything of the unseen high levels, stages, states and knowledge, he must not look at it. He must keep his concentration focused to reach the door of His Lord.
One of these great murshids, Bayazid al-Bistami, who is higher than that level, was looking forward never looking back to right or left. He reached a level where he heard voices coming from the Divine Presence. He said, "O my Lord, open for me Your door. This is my hope, my 'ishq. Open for me Your door." And he heard a voice:
"O Bayazid. My door cannot be opened until you become a servant to My servants, mazballatan lil'ibad for other creation - a dump for their garbage. Then I will open for you My door."
~ Grandshaykh was not asked to be a garbage can to himself, rather, to be a garbage can to the lowest person he meets. You can be a garbage can to your father, your mother, your wife, your brother or your friend, but to a stranger that you do not know? And I am sure that no one accepts to be a garbage can to his father or mother. He does not even agree that he is garbage. He thinks he has the best mind and everyone else is dumb, an idiot.
Even these children running around think they are higher than adults in intelligence. They want to teach us! We will not go into that story, but it means to carry the burdens of my servants. Why did Sayyidina Muhammad come as a "mercy for mankind"?
~ Because he carried the burden of his ummah. Wa innaka la'ala khuluqin 'adheem. "You are of a higher character." That is the best character. When Prophet Muhammad [S] was harmed he did not retaliate, but when he had the power to retaliate and he did not and rather he forgave, wa innaka la'ala khuluqin 'adheema, he is the most humble. He is the highest, but he shows himself the lowest.
Now today's people mistakenly say, ana basharan mithlukum, that the Prophet [S] was only body, flesh and soul. The fact is, Allah made him the highest and yet the Prophet made himself on the same level with anyone. While being the greatest of mankind, he lowered his head, and he did not raise it. Do you carry the burdens of each other? No. So following the way of awliya-ullah, when he went through all those burdens, Shaykh Bayazid al-Bistami asked Allah [Aza waJal], "Make my body as big as hell, so that no one will go to hell but me." And he was sincere in his du'a. He was one hundred percent sincere in that appeal.
~ The Murshid at-Tasfiyya's only goal is Allah: ilahi anta maqsoodi wa rida' ka matlubi.
~ When the door is opened to the Murshid at-Tasfiyya, at that time Allah will reveal to him everything written on the lawh al-mahfoudh.
~ When the Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet, it was moved from lawh al-mahfoudh to Bayt al'izza.
~ When a Murshid reaches that level, he will be able to know the secrets of the Qur'an that were revealed to the Prophet. "Tasfiyya" means to give up everything. An example is, when a store has a clearance or going-out-of-business sale, and all items in the store are liquidated. When a true servant of Allah reaches that level, Allah [Aza waJal] will open everything to him or her.
~ He gives such servants power to attract their followers without saying one word - only through the jazbat, attraction of the eyes.
There are many awliya today living and many that have passed away. People go to their burial places and feel their jazbat. The same can occur with living awliya, who can pull you to them without doing anything, for that power is granted from Allah through the Prophet,
and is in their hearts. Allah [Aza waJal] gave that murshid a specialty to look at his followers. Every servant has been molded, when he or she was born into this world and his parents raised him. They have been molded with eight hundred thousand different bad manners that cannot be counted! You cannot count eight hundred thousand bad manners, can you? Of course not.
~ There are eight hundred thousand spiritual points located throughout the physical body, each of which has bad characteristics of the self, the bad desire of the ego.
~ Presently, traditional and alternative medicine practitioners recognize the physical body has three hundred sixty healing points.
~ But in reality, there are eight hundred thousand spiritual pressure points through which awliya-ullah clean our bad characteristics.
Without cleaning you of these eight hundred thousand points, before anyone can be presented to and experience the spirituality of Sayyidina Muhammad [S] or communicate with his heart, even the tasabih al-malaikat cannot be heard.
~ Murshid at-Tasfiyya was granted the power to clean the eight hundred thousand bad characteristics. Seven hundred forbidden actions lead you to eight hundred thousand forms of bad character, and awliya- ullah are able to pull them away.
~ By tongue you cannot classify these characteristics. The Murshid at-Tasfiyya pulls out those bad characteristics like a sieve, sifting the grain until only the clean grains (good characteristics) can pass through.
~ Furthermore, Allah made the Murshid at-Tasfiyya to always be present with saints that have passed away from this physical world, as well as those who are living in this world.
~ All saints are connected with him at all times, feeding him what they have and what they are doing, as he is one of the highest.
~ He is able to look at his murid twelve thousand times a day. Every time he looks at his murid he sends wisdom to him, advice to do goodness. Don't think that is too much!
~ They are rare, like diamonds.
Some Muslims, particularly those who were raised in the U.S., know nothing about awliya-ullah or about karamat. Most unfortunately, a majority of Muslims around the world have been brainwashed against the true Islamic heritage and traditional Islamic teachings and practices by the Wahhabi doctrine. May Allah protect us from that kind of ideology or mentality!
~ Such is the power and scope of knowledge of the Murshid at-Tasfiyya, that from every word of the Holy Qur'an, the lowest he can extract are nineteen meanings. Sa-usleehi saqar. La-wahatan lilbashr. 'Alayha tis'at 'ashr. "Soon we will we cast him into hellfire. Over it are nineteen.
~ And we have set none but angels that are guardians of the fire."
These nineteen are special angels, guardians of the fire.
~ They are huge and immensely strong. The Murshid at-Tasfiyya also holds the key to a personal miracle for each murid. For every murid there is a secret in the Qur'an, mentioned as wa laa yaabis wa laa ratbin illa fee kitaaban mubeen.
~ The Murshid knows which of the words of Qur'an are designed to stop you from falling into darkness and being thrown into the hellfire, guarded by nineteen angels. He gives you that awrad to recite daily.
~ The Murshid at-Tasfiyya knows the awrad that is custom designed for you; for this reason you need a wali. If someone puts together a wird made from the wrong codes, it will not be effective.
The Murshid at-Tasfiyya can put together from Qur' an and hadith an-nabi recitations to clean you from your personal bad characteristics that will lead you to hellfire if they are not
removed.
~ There are five hundred ma'muraat and eight hundred forbidden actions.
The Murshid at-Tasfiyya will guide you to the five hundred orders and guide you to avoid falling into the eight hundred forbidden actions, all by that single word he assigns you to recite from the Holy Qur'an; for each individual a different word.
~ Another characteristic that Allah gave the Murshid at-Tasfiyya: by his observing this universe he will pull out from each planet thirty-five different signs of the Oneness of Allah [Aza waJal].
~ From any planet he looks at with his spiritual vision, he will derive thirty-five spiritual signs of Allah's Oneness.
Further, he can plant these different signs into the five levels of the heart - qalb, sirr, sirr-as-sirr, khafa, and akhfa.
When you say la ilaha ill-Allah - it's recitation will take you by tongue and by heart, qawlan wa fi'lan, where you will be made to observe the oneness of Allah [Aza waJal].
Allah gave the Murshid at-Tasfiyya this miraculous power of spiritual vision that is stronger than the vision of his physical eyes.
~ The Qutb of that time will be under his authority.
Allah gives the Murshid at-Tasfiyya the power to recite on every outgoing breath and in each inhaling breath seven hundred thousand times "Allah, Allah". He possesses 'ilm al-yaqeen, 'ayn al-yaqeen, Haqq al-yaqeen, and la rayba feeh.
All that we have just described of the Murshid at-Tasfiyya is a mere glimpse of his station and powers.

MURSHID AT-TARBIYYA

~ The highest level of Irshad for the scholars guiding the ummah is Murshid at-Tarbiyya,
"al-'ulama warithat al-anbiya." All the knowledge of the Awliya is but a drop in the Ocean of the knowledge of the Prophet, which he opened to all Awliya. From beginning to end that is but a drop in the Ocean, so imagine then what Allah [Aza waJal] gave to the Prophet [S].
~ This series is about the Awliya of the Naqshbandi Sufi order.
Those who have the chance to associate with them have the chance to benefit from them. Those who have no such chance or have not taken bay'at' with one such master have lost that chance.
~ Once Grandshaykh Sharafuddin was discussing what the Awliya send. At this association were thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of murids in his association. One night they were sitting and a stranger came. Shaykh Sharafuddin was looking at his heart and observed that person had no chance to benefit from the high teachings normally coming in that association.
To prevent that association from dropping in levels and in order to keep it at a high level, he said, "O my son. I was thinking about you." He didn't want to waste the time of the murids by speaking at a lower level or by getting questions, etc. which interrupt the flow. Shaykh Sharafuddin had a jubba gifted to him by Sultan Abdul Hamid. That jubba was decorated with seven hundred thousand gold coins, fully decorated with threads, etc. He wanted to show his murids that he had no attachment to it compared to the value of that association, and he gave that jubba to that stranger. That stranger was overjoyed, and at the same worried that the shaykh would take it back, so he left quickly.
~ That is why such lectures are only for the followers of ahl as-sunnah wal-jama'at who are holding fast to every sunnah and understanding spiritual realities.
We previously described three kinds of murshid: tabarruk, tazkiyya, and tasfiyya. These three different levels can be in any tariqat. The murshid of any tariqat can reach these three levels.
~ But the Murshid at-Tarbiyya level is only found in the Naqshbandi tariqat.
Allah has granted that to the Naqshbandi tariqat. Whatever levels those mashaykh of other tariqats reach, they reach only to the level of Murshid at-Tasfiyya.
But those who are Naqshbandi and have reached the level of tarbiyya have already passed the preceding three levels.
~ Murshid at-Tarbiyya, the guide who raises up murids, in order to reach that level he has reached the level of absolute ijtihad, al-ijtihad al-mutlaq.
Not only in shari'ah, but in haqiqat. That is similar in Arabic, tawkeel al-shamila, to the power of attorney.
~ There is a general power of attorney with specific power, and more broadly, there is a complete power of attorney. And above that, in our Arabic tradition, there is wakalat shamila kamilat mutlaqa: general, complete and un-terminated power of attorney.
~ In Islam, the Divine Law we follow, the shari'ah, addresses life's circumstances in broad, open-minded ways. We can separate and later divorce without ever returning to our spouse, without speaking with him or her. We can marry a person who is in absentia (not present), and join that spouse at a later time.
~ So that Murshid at-Tarbiyya is given the general, complete and unterminated power of making juristic decisions, as well as decisions in realities. It is these murshids about whom Allah said, rijaalun sadaqu ma 'ahadallahu 'alayh; they are given the full trust of Allah.
Grandshaykh, may Allah sanctify his soul, said there are nine awliya whose du'a Allah will accept and change whatever they ask from the lawh al-mahfoudh. Mujtahid mutlaq in shari'ah and haqiqat. When Grandshaykh was asked by his Grandshaykh, Shaykh Sharafuddin, to accept that level of irshad by his shaykh, he said, "If you are asking I am saying no." Shaykh Sharafuddin said, "It is an order from the Prophet [S]." Grandshaykh said, "If it is an order, ala raasee wal-ayn. But if it is being given, then I don't accept that responsibility.
~ I don't accept but on one condition." That night in the gathering of Awliya in majlis an-nabi, Grandshaykh Sharafuddin discussed this situation with the Prophet [S]. "He is not accepting, except with a condition." Prophet said, "Ask that condition." The next day he went to his murid, and following the order of the Prophet, Shaykh Sharafuddin asked Shaykh Abdullah what was his condition. Shaykh Abdullah answered, "In this time there is too much darkness, ignorance, lies, deceit, poison, and cheating. In this kind of ignorance present today, it does not take one year or fifteen years or one hundred years to reach any level of achievement in spirituality.
~ They are happy in my majlis. But as soon as they walk out the door, the bad desires will bring them down. So why waste my time, when it's better to do my awrad by myself." Shaykh Sharafuddin said, "So what do you want?"
~ Shaykh Abdullah said, "I want a grant from the Prophet [S] that whoever sits in my gathering, listening to my talks, without doing anything on his own behalf, I am asking permission to raise him to my level. Not only that, if I speak of any wali in my gathering, whichever wali I mention, I want my murids to be granted the level of that wali.
~ Otherwise I don't need it." You see the level of Murshid at-Tarbiyya? He knows we are not going to achieve anything on our own. Like a father with his child, he carries the whole responsibility. Even if they are grown up and running in the streets, parents will do the best for their child.
Grandshaykh Sharafuddin said, "I will ask."
In the diwan al-awliya Shaykh Sharafuddin said, "Abdullah Effendim is putting these conditions."
The Prophet [S] said, ana raadi, anaa raadi, ana raadi - "I accept! I accept! I accept!" with his hand on his heart. And he added, "Not one wali has previously asked me that for his murids."[That is why Naqshbandi Dawah is So Important, just for them to sit in an association The Sultan AlAwliya will carry all those Present to that reality ]
~ That means the Prophet [S] is not waiting for us to progress in tariqat, as he knows we cannot do anything in this time. We are mujtahidin mutlaq, which means no one can deduce a juristic ruling from shari'ah or haqiqat except the Murshid at-Tarbiyya; he is the highest.
~ On top of that power, he must have gone deep enough and obtained the realities and certainties, and authenticated all the knowledge and confirmed/verified all the knowledge that is in 'ilm al-yaqeen, 'ayn al-yaqeen and haqq al-yaqeen.
~ This level of Murshid is similar to digital channels as we now have, multiplexed from one satellite, signals that can be seen and heard simultaneously, and not imagined but rather reality, with complete certainty.
~ The Murshid at-Tarbiyya does not experience imagination or illusion, but actually lives in that time or place, possessing the ultimate capacities of hearing and sight.

The Murshid is present in all these realities as if he is living in the past, the present and even the future, up to Judgment Day. Allah [Aza waJal] gives him the five different elements of Irshad:

1. Allah's care (inayatullah)

2. The Prophet's care, vision and support (inayat an-nabi)

3. The preceding guides' care and vision (inayatanmin al-murshideen al-'idham)

4. His grandshaykh's care (inayat al-murshid)

5. The care and vision of the two angels on right and left shoulders (inayat KiramKatabeen)
The murshid is allowed to know every detail of the Day of Promises, when the souls were asked, "Am I not your Lord?"
They said, "Yes."
Allah asked the spirits "Who am I and who are you?"
The spirits replied, "You are our Lord and we are your servants." At that time Allah planned every thing that every person must do in his life in his responsibilities.
That was in 'alam al-meethaaq - the World of Promises. At that time, Murshid at-Tarbiyya was there and knew it by details and when he came to the dunya still remembered that day and its details.
How many Murshid at-Tarbiyya came since the time of the Prophet up to today?
Allah gave him the knowledge of all awliya-ullah, from the time of Sayyidina Adam up to Judgment Day, with their names and their knowledge. This is a key specialty of Murshid at-Tarbiyya.
~ The shaykhs are inheritors of prophets. Not these scholars of today - they are juhala - ignoramuses. 'Ulama are pious and sincere, possessing knowledge of both 'ilm ash-shari'ah (law) and 'ilm al- haqiqat (spirituality).
~ Another characteristic given to Murshid at-Tarbiyya by Allah is that whatever changes occur on the Preserved Tablet, he knows about it.
As for the twenty-four thousand breaths of each murid, that murshid will know his murid's state and stations for each of these breaths.
The metabolism, breathing, chemistry levels, nervous reactions, and the smallest capillaries, he is aware of each and every change in them.
If you put the capillaries (that are smaller than a single hair) in line, they reach from earth to the moon. There are three trillion cells in the body.
~ The Murshid at-Tarbiyya is aware of all of them. All this information, ability and power is coming from a drop of the Prophet's Ocean.
People are now playing in this dunya. That is why when they become aware of these realities they abandon their concern for this dunya. Only one dive into this Reality Ocean is enough happiness for them, in this life and in the Eternal Life.
~ Murshid at-Tarbiyya has to know the sustenance of his murid, the knowledge of his murid in dunya, and the conditions of the murid's body from the day of his creation until the Day of Judgment.
~ He must know every Arabic letter, that has existed on the lawh al-mahfoudh, because it is lughat ahl al-jannat. Whatever is written there, he must know how many letters have been written from beginning to end. Not the twenty-seven letters of the alphabet, rather each letter as it appears in the lawh al-mahfoudh, one by one, is considered an individual letter.

Bihurmat al habeeb wa bi hurmat al-Fatiha. For the sake of the Beloved, for his sake we recite the Opening Chapter of Qur'an.
